**Career Opportunity**:

- Committed to customer experience, customer engagement, customer safety and equitable services, the Manager, Special Constable is directly responsible for the overall operations efficiencies and held accountable for the day-to day management, operation and administration of the department. The incumbent is responsible for utilizing and developing department staff and a union workforce to achieve a high degree of employee morale and productivity.- The incumbent channels a customer first environment, ensuring excellent customer service for TTC customers and fellow employees, is engaged in maintaining the integrity of the fare system, protecting TTC assets and ensuring compliance of Criminal Code of Canada, Controlled Drugs and Substances Act, Mental Health Act, Liquor Licence Act, Trespass to Property Act, TTC By-Law #1, and other municipal, provincial (e.g. Ontario Human Rights Code) and federal statutes pertaining to Special Constable activities and issues in a consistent, non-discriminatory or bias manner. All activities must be carried out in accordance with federal, provincial and municipal laws, the TTC Code of Ethics, department Core Values and Mission Statement. The incumbent, through the Early Intervention System (EIS), will aid in the management of patterns, trends of discrimination and systemic barriers impacting marginalized communities.- Fundamental to this role, is the requirement for the incumbent to hold all confidential information in trust and strict confidence demonstrating at all time the utmost respect to confidentiality and privacy of highly sensitive information.**What You Will Do**:

- Apprising the Head, Special Constable on all relevant issues and activities;
- Work in conjunction with all TTC department management to ensure Special constable staff are available for special assignments;
- Attending court and various tribunals to provide evidence on behalf of the TTC when required;
- Liaising and co-operating with senior management and various police and/or security agencies on all matters related to the work of the section or department and assisting as necessary;
- Preparing reports, correspondence and maintaining appropriate records, etc.
- Ensuring proper process is carried out by subordinates in regards to the collection of customer’s personal information, issuance of Provincial Offences Notice, incidents of Use of Force; ensuring discretion in effort to manage risk to TTC’s reputation;
- Managing Special Constable renewal process in compliance with the standing Police services agreements
- Managing field audits regarding special interest groups;
- Responding to health and safety concerns in a timely manner, complying with TTC policies and the Occupational Health & Safety Act;
- Keeping apprised on environmental scans and changes to trends in the industry;
- Managing monthly disbursements submitted by staff prior to approving for processing and compiling/verifying associated information for departmental financial tracking and monitoring (e.g. bills, invoices, etc.);
- Keeping abreast of changes to policies, procedures and industry standards including internal and external policies, procedures, rules, routine orders, work methods, new technologies, core competencies, systems, risks, lesson plans, task listing, etc.;
- Promptly respond to incidents and other events as directed by the department head and perform other related duties as assigned;
- Substitutes for the Head, Special Constable as required
- Demonstrates behaviours that support diversity, inclusion, and a respectful work and service environment that is free from discrimination and harassment. Helps to remove barriers and accommodate employees and customers (within their area of responsibility) in accordance with TTC’s commitments and obligations under the Ontario Human Rights Code (OHRC) and Related Orders, the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA), and TTC’s policies.
