**Patient Care Coordinator/Medical Office Assistant**

**Specialist Physiatry/Sports Medicine Clinic**

**Time Commitment**: 9am to 5pm (37.5 hours per week)

**Duties Include**:

- Coordinating patient care by checking in, prepping, escorting to exam rooms, and preparing exam or treatment rooms for the next patient.
- Maintaining the Doctors’ schedule for clinical days, teaching commitments and medical legal appointments.
- Maintaining electronic medical record (EMR - Input Health) and clinic files.
- Ensuring exam rooms are stocked appropriately and keeping a clinic supply inventory.
- Cleaning and sterilizing clinical rooms, materials and instruments in between patients.
- Assisting with minor procedures and ultrasound machine operation when needed.
- Submitting completed requisitions and referrals as directed by clinic doctors.
- Communicating with insurance companies and law firms when required.
- Performing billing procedures for multiple payers (MSP, ICBC, WCB, etc.) and collecting non-insured fees where applicable.
- Ordering and receiving kitchen, office and medical supplies.
- Cleaning and tidying clinical and office spaces in between commercial cleaning sessions.
- Performing other related clinical or administrative tasks as required.

**General Skills and Abilities**:

- High level of professionalism.
- Works well in a team environment.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient computer skills including MS Office software and Adobe Acrobat Pro.
- Speed and accuracy for administrative tasks.
- Good problem-solving skills and demonstrates good judgment.
- Medical transcription skills are an asset.

**Clinical Skills and Abilities**:

- Basic Cardiac Life Support certificate.

**Salary**:

- $25+/hour (dependent on skills and experience)
- Additional Paid vacation after one year of continuous employment.
- Extended Health, Dental and LTD benefits available after probationary period of 3 months.
- Must be willing to provide 2 references and submit to a criminal records/vulnerable sectors background check.

**Salary**: From $25.00 per hour

**Education**:

- Bachelor's Degree (preferred)

**Experience**:

- Medical Office Assistant: 1 year (required)
