Continuum Coffee Roasters is currently seeking a motivated individual to join the team as Assistant Roaster. This position is part-time, two-days a week, and perfect for coffee professionals who are looking to grow their experience in roasting, sensory analysis, and green coffee buying.

Primary responsibilities include:

- Production roasting, including weighing and blending coffees according to set recipes, and roasting small batches of coffee according to set profiles
- Participating in QC (Quality Control) of coffee
- Processing both wholesale and online orders
- Packing and shipping coffee
- Assisting with inventory management
- Sample roasting and evaluating coffee samples
- Lifting and moving heavy objects - such as green beans, boxes, pallets, etc.
- Cleaning and organizing the production area

Additional responsibilities include:

- Developing guidelines and procedures for coffee preparation, and providing feedback and guidance to wholesale clients
- Educating clients and customers, organizing events such as group cuppings using SCA standards and procedures, and selling coffee and coffee equipment
- Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of current best practices, developments, and trends through on-going education, professional development, and networking
- Serving as an ambassador at special events and conferences, as necessary
- Perform other duties as required

Requirements / Qualifications:

- 1-year relevant experience is an asset but not mandatory
- Extremely organized and punctual
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to lift heavy objects (35 lb - 50 lb)
- Comfortable standing and always moving on the production floor
- Strong passion for specialty coffee and motivated to learn
- Self-disciplined with excellent multi-tasking abilities
- Team player

**Job Type**: Part-time

**Salary**: $18.00-$21.00 per hour

Expected hours: 16 per week

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift
