**Summary**:
KITS Eyecare is looking for a **Surfacing Line Operator **to join our team The Surfacing Line Operator plays a critical role in the lens production process, ensuring high-quality output through precise machine operation, lens cleaning, and equipment maintenance. This position involves monitoring and adjusting production machinery, inspecting lenses for defects, and adhering to safety and compliance standards. This role requires attention to detail, a focus on quality, and a commitment to safety and teamwork.

The shift for this position is Monday-Friday (2:00PM-10:30PM).

**Responsibilities**:
**Lens Surfacing**:

- Operate multi-function process control machinery through control panels, computer terminals or other control systems required for production.
- Observe gauges, computer printouts and video monitors to verify specified processing conditions.
- Make adjustments to process variables such as but not limited to machine inputs, flow rates, production rates, and temperature settings.
- Maintain detailed shift logs for all aspects of production and operations.
- Comply with all safety and health regulations.

**Lens Washing and Cleaning**:

- Wash and clean lenses to remove any residues, contaminants, or particles between various steps in the process.
- Use appropriate cleaning solutions and techniques to ensure lenses are free from defects and meet quality standards.
- Inspect cleaned lenses for any imperfections or issues that may affect the coating or final product.

**Process improvement**:

- Give feedback on areas for improvement within any of the processes related to the machine area.

**Equipment Maintenance**:

- Perform regular cleaning, maintenance, and minor repairs on surfacing and coating equipment.
- Troubleshoot equipment issues and collaborate with maintenance teams for more extensive repairs.

**Safety and Compliance**:

- Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines in the warehouse to ensure a safe working environment.

**Team Collaboration**:

- Work closely with other technicians, supervisors, and quality control personnel to meet production goals.
- Communicate effectively to report issues, suggest improvements, and share best practices.
- Other duties as assigned.

**Requirements**:

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and ecommerce platforms.
- High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to lead and influence a diverse group of people.
- Previous leadership experience is considered an asset but not required.
- Ability to work independently and follow precise instructions in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience working in a warehouse or fulfillment environment is a plus.

The anticipated hourly rate for this position is $19.00.
