**WellFort is seeking a Financial Analyst to join our team**

**Financial Analyst - 0.8 FTE Part-time Permanent**

WellFort is a non-profit, values-based organization that provides health promotion and prevention programs, primary and oral health care and works with local residents and other agencies to increase community capacity.

Reporting to the Finance Manager, the Financial Analyst manages payroll preparation, maintains payroll and benefits records, and ensures compliance with government filings. This role also includes a corporate component, which is responsible for coordinating day-to-day internal financial reporting within WellFort. This position is also responsible for day-to-day internal financial reporting, coordinating the planning, design and development implementation, and improvement of financial processes both manual and automated. This role requires knowledge of payroll and statutory regulations, computerized payroll systems, spreadsheets, and general accounting practices. The position works closely with Human Resources and Finance teams providing support with payroll-related reporting, projects, and ad hoc queries.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**

**Payroll functions**:

- Prepares payroll input data and completes the payroll run process, using the computerized payroll system (ADP).
- Computes and prepares remittances for the CRA, EHT employee benefits, garnishments and submits for payment.
- Prepares T4 & T4A summaries and annual payroll reconciliations for EHT.
- Balances payroll and payroll related General Ledger Accounts.
- Maintains all payroll records in an audit-friendly manner, facilitating the audit process by preparing reports and organizing documentation. Additionally, promptly and professionally addresses payroll-related queries from both employees and Leadership Team.
- Administers group benefits, HOOPP and RRSP enrollments, changes, terminations and reconciliations.
- Stay updated on payroll best practices and legal requirements to ensure compliance.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure payroll and scheduling activities align with overall organizational goals and objectives.
- Assist employees with benefits enrollment and inquiries.
- Collaborate and address issues as needed with payroll provider

**Corporate functions**:

- Prepare ad hoc analytical review schedules tailored to stakeholder’s need in Finance related areas such as revenue, cost contract, tax etc.
- Perform comprehensive analyses of financial data; prepare management reports and analysis of results.
- Analyze reporting requests; fully defined user needs and optimal method of production.
- Assist with variance and other reports as requested.
- Work with Finance and the Leadership team to implement new policies, procedures and best practices for financial analysis, tracking and reporting results.

**Finance Support**:

- Support the procurement and reconciliation process.
- Support the bank reconciliation and tax remittance process.
- Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts as required
- Assist with the audit function as required.
- Support the funder reporting function as required.
- Support month end, quarterly and year end reports as required
- Support and cover the scheduling coordinator as needed.

**QUALIFICATIONS**
- Graduate of a Business Administration/Accounting program or equivalent and working towards a CPA Designation is an asset.
- Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) certification preferred.
- Preferred three (3) years' experience in Finance, Accounting, and Payroll, preferably within a Ministry of Health (MOH) or Ontario Health (OH) funded organization.
- Proficiency with ADP payroll software is preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access).
- Experience with Great Plains, FRx Reporter, Quadrant, and QHRNet is an asset.
- Effective team player with the ability to collaborate across various departments.
- Strong understanding of payroll processes, tax regulations, and employment laws.
- Ability to analyze payroll data for accuracy and handle discrepancies.
- Knowledgeable in time and attendance systems and technologies.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record-keeping.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information discreetly.

**Salary Range**: $58,211 - $67,514 (pro-rated to FTE) (consideration of experience)
