Dietary Aide

**SUMMARY**:
Reporting to the PCH Management Team, the Dietary Aide will create an open and inclusive environment with our Personal Care Home residents that we support. Your role will include working with Residents with varying level of physical and cognitive ability.
Flexibility and adaptability are required for our Dietary Aide. You will be required to serve the foods the kitchen prepares for our residents, while also baking fresh desserts and breads and preparing meals in order to create a homey environment.
**RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES**:
- Taking residents food and beverage orders and serving residents in a timely professional manner.
- Provide a high level of customer service and promote a restaurant style dining atmosphere.
- Work closely with the executive chef and management team to keep residents satisfied with food and dining programs.
- Prepares and bakes snacks and desserts.
- Set tables in accordance to HLV standards.
- Review daily menu with residents.
- Takes and delivers accurate meal orders to residents and guests with careful attention to their specific dietary needs (allergies, consistency, preferences, etc.)
- Remove used or soiled plates, utensils, glasses, linen from the dining room in a timely fashion.
- Adhere to Quality Enhancement standards and standard food safety practices.
- Assist with preparation and execution of special events and themed meals.
- When applicable acquaint new residents with menus, seating, and dining options and hours.
- Clean and sanitize tables, chairs, condiment containers, and equipment used in the dining room.
- Communicate resident likes and dislikes to Executive Chef and/or General Manager for menu planning purposes and resident satisfaction.
- Create a strong sense of teamwork and cooperation among all staff.
- Appropriately manage inventory to ensure very limited food waste.
- Appropriately manage one’s time to ensure all duties are complete within shift.
- Appropriately manage time to ensure meals are delivered in a timely fashion.
- May perform other duties as needed and/or assigned.

**SKILLS & ABILITIES**:
- The flexibility and willingness to learn.
- Basic reading, writing, and mathematical skills.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Strong organization and time management skills.
- Able to resolve problems of dissatisfied customers and/or employees.
**QUALIFICATIONS**:
- Food Safe Certification
- WHMIS

- Must be available on weekends
- Must be available for 7:00am to 3:00pm shift
