As an integral part of the Support Services Team, the IT Support Specialist is responsible for providing first level technical support to staff across all offices and operations. The IT Support Specialist will also be required to maintain IT infrastructure and provide assistance during projects. The role is also expected to help support the Operational Technologies (OT) deployed at our industrial facilities.

**SPECIFIC ACCOUNTABILITIES**

**Responsibilities**
- Troubleshoot complex hardware and software problems, escalate as necessary to senior technical staff.
- Take ownership of resolving issues from start to finish.
- Ensure all interactions are tracked and maintained accurately.
- Effectively prioritize incoming cases and identify requests that require escalation.
- Identify areas for improving processes and procedures.
- Contribute to an expanding knowledge base by documenting solutions or internal IT processes.
- Work cross-functionally with other teams in the organisation.
- Maintain a positive company image during all interactions.
- Monitor existing systems via logs and/or alerts to ensure the IT/OT platform is operating efficiently.

**Requirements**:
Education and Certificates
- Information Technology technical education or university degree
- Industry certifications in Windows Server, desktop support (CompTIA, Networking, Security, MCP, MCSA, MCSE, etc.).
- Technical skills in the following:

- Layer 2 and layer 3 networking
- IT security (endpoint, network)
- Windows OS imaging (creating and deploying)
- Mobile phone setup and troubleshooting
- Enterprise voice and video platforms (Teams, VOIP)
- Common desktop tools (Word, Excel, Outlook, Office 365, Acrobat, etc.)
- Knowledge of essential network concepts and services: DNS, DHCP, IP, VLAN, and VPN.
- Knowledge of common troubleshooting techniques.
- Software license management.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, prioritize requests, and escalate appropriately.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work in a collaborative environment participating in diverse work groups with vendors, consultants, contractors, auditors, other specialists and remote resources.
- Solid understanding of the business of IT service delivery, with emphasis on customer service.
- Ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical staff.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to adapt in a complex and changing environment.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality with regard to the information being processed, stored or accessed on the corporate network.
- Monday - Friday. Due to the nature of IT/OT systems, occasional work outside of regular hours may be necessary for upgrades, patching, etc. Call out may be necessary in the event of a major outage.
