The Clinical Planner, Medical Imaging (MI) reports to the Executive Director and undertakes a lead role in planning and supporting the implementation of designated initiatives across PHSA. The role manages the services of the Mobile Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) and Mobile Computerized Tomography (CT) units for provincial deployment and sustains these units in a state of readiness.
The Clinical Planner supports service delivery planning and expansion through evidence-based standards and best practices for care delivery, coordinates project development for a broad range of initiatives and ensures appropriate frameworks and processes for evaluation are in place.
**What you’ll do**
- Takes a lead role in providing clinical project coordination for designated projects at PHSA.
- Manages the deployment of the Mobile MRI and Mobile CT units for provincial utilization. Ensures the units are in a state of readiness for deployment. Coordinates schedules and delivery of the units to health authorities.
- Leads service delivery planning to help identify specific needs within MI where additional services or expanded services are required. Coordinates the development, implementation and evaluation of strategic initiatives identified for implementation.
- Participates in the development and monitoring of applicable budgets within the context of operations demands and environmental and resource constraints. Uses best practice methods to thoroughly monitor and adhere to allocated budgets.
- Works collaboratively with vested parties/managers throughout PHSA to ensure PHSA-wide plans meet standards to be implemented across the health authority. Maintains sensitivity to individual community needs, supports and capacity.
- Contributes to research and business case development to support care delivery models that are specific to MI initiatives. Consults with Physicians, Managers, staff, consumers and family members and other vested parties in PHSA.
- Collaborates with other provincial and federal authorities and organizations to ensure the required accreditation and regulatory standards are fulfilled as part of the project planning.
- Develops and completes an action research/evaluation process to be utilized for the gathering and sharing of expertise for incorporation into plans within PHSA,
- Manages the transition of assigned projects through the development state and ensures the transition of the management of these to the identified responsible leader.
- Carries out responsibilities in accordance with health and safety requirements. Immediately reports unsafe situations by notifying supervisor or other appropriate personnel.
- Additional duties as assigned linked to service planning.
**What you bring**
**Qualifications**:
- A Master’s Degree in a health related discipline and seven (7) years recent Medical Imaging experience including experience in service delivery program development, implementation and evaluation or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
- Extensive knowledge & clinical experience in designated area. Proven ability to manage complex projects. Knowledge and experience in community development. Demonstrated ability in change management and change processes. Ability to undertake program evaluation. Experience with budget development. Demonstrated leadership skills with diverse populations and vested parties. Excellence in computer skills, including the Microsoft Office group of products.
