Quality Control Specialist- Afternoon Shift

Tillsonburg Custom Foods has an immediate opening available for a Quality Control Specialist/ Pre-Op Inspection Specialist position on our Afternoon shift The hours for this position are Monday-Thursday; 2:30pm-1:00am.

**Overview**:
The QC Specialist will report directly to the Quality Assurance Manager, and is responsible for maintaining quality standards as directed by legislative and company standards. This role has in integral part in our overall customer satisfaction thus the ideal person for this role will have an ability to monitor, inspect and propose measures to correct or improve a company’s final products and processes.

**Responsibilities**:

- Conducting visual inspection of all areas and equipment in plant to ensure cleanliness prior to the start of production.
- Monitors and records the temperatures on the production floor and in all product storage rooms
- Responsible for completion and maintenance of inspection records, documenting deviations and initiating corrective actions.
- Working with CFIA inspectors on regular basis during pre-op inspection tasks and ensuring compliance to company’s policies.
- Working closely with sanitation and production personnel to ensure highest standard of cleanliness is achieved and maintained at all times

**Qualifications / Characteristics**:

- Quality Control experience considered an asset
- 1-3 years of experience in a food processing facility.
- Knowledge of HACCP principles and Good Manufacturing Practices considered an asset
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Must positively interact with fellow employees and exhibit a strong work ethic.
- Capable of working in a moderate to cold working environment.
- Ability to stand or move continuously for extended periods of time.
- Capacity to multi-task and adapt to fluctuating work requirements
