Mechanical/electrical Construction Project Manager

**Summary**:
As a Mechanical/Electrical Construction Project Manager, you will lead and oversee projects with a focus on project management and construction expertise. Your premium skills in blueprint reading, ProCore, and Construction estimating will be essential in ensuring project success. Proficiency in effectively manage project timelines and budgets. Your relevant skills in construction management software, time management, and schematics will further enhance your ability to coordinate project activities. Join our team and take on a pivotal role in driving project completion and success.

**Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Involved in the entire construction process, and able to follow through on the project in its entirety.
- Ensure projects are delivered in accordance with the contract requirements.
- A sound working knowledge of various standard forms of contracts.
- Plan, execute and coordinate work plans for assigned projects for the mechanical and electrical division and revise as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements.
- Define the project tasks and resource equipment.
- Interpret project drawings and specifications, RFP/RFQ’s and other documentation.
- Ensure all necessary permits and licenses are obtained in order to continue with the project.
- Resolve issues and facilitate escalation of project performance related problems.
- Obtain approval from the estimating team and the manager of the division before incurring any extra costs during the project.
- Participate in the interpretation of contract Terms and Conditions.
- Coordinate the drawing layouts/detailing for proper job installation.
- Analyze, plan, and schedule project timelines.
- Constantly monitor and report on the progress of the project to all stakeholders.
- Take charge of quality assurance.
- Troubleshoot technical issues as required.
- Manage project budget and employee hours.
- Work with finance department in understanding cost and estimate analysis reporting, and allocation of costs.
- Follow up on unpaid invoices.
- Proactively investigate opportunities for improvements in project scopes that will result in value added change orders.
- Oversee assigned projects for compliance with specifications, local codes, and installation techniques.
- Use negotiation skills to consistently resolve disputes.
- Minimize exposure and risks on a project.
- Manage material procurement and logistics processes.
- Ensure projects are in compliance with contract requirements and Superior Boiler Works and Welding Limited standards.
- Organize and attend job progress meetings as required.
- Ensure contractors and subcontractors understand expectations of the project prior to the start date and have completed and submitted the Contractor’s Safety Package prior to work commencing.
- Manage and supervise employees’ performance as per the company’s policies and procedures.
- Ensure paperwork for project completion is current, organized and completed (close out documents, contract items, etc.) and stored appropriately.
- Adhere to safety standards, ensuring that employees and subcontractors adhere to safety standards.
- Visit project sites and attend pre-bid meetings.

**Qualifications**:

- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field is considered an asset
- Trade experience an asset
- Proven experience in project management within the construction industry
- Proficiency in blueprint reading and construction estimating software
- Working knowledge of ProCore
- Strong negotiation skills and experience in contracts management
- Ability to effectively utilize construction management software
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
