Avaanz is a human environment consulting firm providing environmental, social and economic services for a number of practice areas and sectors. We work with Indigenous, public and private sector clients to navigate environmental regulatory processes and develop innovative solutions to the environmental and socio-economic challenges these organizations face. In this position, you will be working on economic and financial planning projects that support the human aspect of environmental and community well-being.

You will lead and/or support a range of economic and financial assignments related to:

- Community well-being
- Climate change adaptation and mitigation
- Local impact assessments
- Environmental assessments
- Cost-benefit analyses
- Feasibility studies
- Business case studies
- Input-output analyses
- Economic and financial forecasting
- Municipal finance and operations
- Urban and regional economics
- Strategic planning
- Environmental, social, and corporate governance (ESG)

Day to day activities may include:

- Working with a multi-disciplinary team
- Effectively communicating (written and orally) with clients, subconsultants, and other organizations
- Directing and delegating work to intermediate and junior staff depending on level of experience
- Research, data collection, and literature reviews
- Conducting economic and financial modeling
- Analysis of data and interpretation of model results
- Contributing to, and leading report writing
- Contributing to proposal preparation
- Developing assessment approaches
- Conducting business development activities

This position has several aspects you might find challenging and rewarding such as:

- Supporting and guiding staff, including the opportunity to mentor junior staff

Both team/work environment at Avaanz is highly collaborative and collegial. Avaanz is a small start-up human environment consulting business. We work from home. We don’t have physical office locations. This position requires you to have a safe and effective workspace or home-office location. We rely heavily on collaborating virtually using web-based tools. Skills/Experience/Education
- 6 - 10+ experience in a related field
- Post-secondary degree, preferably in economics, business, planning, geography, math, or related
- Experience conducting quantitative business or economic analysis
- Experience undertaking environmental and socio-economic impact assessments
- Experience conducting qualitative and quantitative research and analysis
- Experience writing reports and presenting findings
- Experience conducting business development
- Experience working directly with clients
- Experience managing projects and effectively delegating tasks
- Experience using quantitative modelling tools such as MS Excel, Arc GIS, statistical analysis packages

Location

While our work is fully remote, staff must be based in Canada

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: $50,000.00-$110,000.00 per year
