This is a **1:1 assignment - Female applicants ONLY.**

**Shifts**:
**Client: Elderly woman **(Oakville - Randall St.)
- 6 hour x 4 days - 12:00pm-6:00pm
- Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday.

**Personal Support Worker job details**:
The Personal Support Worker (PSW) is a “Personal Support at Home” front line position acting as a representative of iCare Home Heath and providing the services offered by the company.

The Personal Support Worker (PSW) will mostly work independently of co-workers or supervisors and therefore must balance good judgment and initiative along with the policies of the company.

The Personal Support Worker (PSW) will be required to maintain a safe working environment for themselves and their clients.

**Duties**:
The following list is a guideline of possible duties to be performed independently or as a group of duties in the course of working with the client. The Personal Support Worker (PSW) duties are not limited to those listed.

**A. Personal Care and Observe for Safety**:
Able to work with and provide a safe environment for Seniors.

**B. Companionship and Personal Care**

One of the most important aspects of iCare Home Health will be providing clients with a strong sense of support and safety.

May be asked to provide
- Mental and Physical stimulation - focus is on activities.
- Familiarity with technology/ mind games is an asset.
- Hygiene services - as required
- Toileting.
- Dressing.

Taking a genuine interest in the client, their life and their environment will help create a true sense of companionship.

**Qualifications**:
1. Current recognized _**PSW certificate**_.

2. _**Dementia care**_ and experience is a MUST Have.

3. General Pursuasive Approach course is an asset.

4. Current certificate in standard first aid and CPR.

5. Knowledge of _**safe transfers**_.

6. _**Police Criminal Reference Check**_.

7. Ability to _**work independently**_.

8. _**Excellent communication**_ and listening skills.

9. _**Compassionate, patient and caring nature**_**.**

10. Must be _**physically and mentally fit**_ to handle the demands of care giving.

11. Must be **p*_**assionate and committed in heart and mind*_ in everything you do.
