Summer Child Care Worker

**Mahmowenchike Family Development Centre **is seeking two motivated individuals to fill summer contracts at each of our locations through the summer months running from July 2nd, 2024 to August 27th, 2024. We run programming at our St. Vincent school and St. Ann school locations through the summer.
At Mahmowenchike, it is our goal to provide high-quality child care and support to families and children and we foster an environment of inclusion and continuous learning. We work as a cohesive team which means supporting each other and supporting our centres to be the best we can be.
The Summer Child Care Worker will possess the following:
- A current, clear Criminal Reference Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening
- First Aid and CPR certificate, level C (includes infant/child CPR)
- Prior experience working in a child care setting an asset, but not required
- Knowledge of the Anishinaabe language and Indigenous teachings, traditions, and culture an asset, but not required
The Summer Child Care Worker will be responsible to work cooperatively with our team of educators to develop, plan, and implement nurturing and culturally centered programming for children 0-12 years of age. They will learn valuable skills that will set up the employee to further their education and knowledge in such fields as Early Childhood Education, Indigenous Learning, Child and Youth Care, and Recreation Therapy.
The wage for this position varies based on experience and will be $17.75/hour for unqualified individuals and $20.25/hour for qualified individuals.
