**About the position**

Town Centre Private Schools is a well-established IB World School and offers an excellent working environment, supported by a highly dedicated team of administrators.

The Vice-Principal is a key member of the Elementary Leadership team reporting to the Principal. The Vice-Principal will assist the Principal in all areas of the school including daily academic operations, student life, curriculum and staff leadership, in accordance with the guidelines aligned with TCPS’ mission, vision and values.

Duties will include, but are not limited to

**Management of Personnel**:

- Establish trusting relationships with members of the school community, staff and effectively communicate TCPS' mission, and values.
- Plan, organize and facilitate team meetings.
- Support teachers in their professional development.
- Establish schedules, organize replacements for duties and lunch supervision.
- Contribute to the recruitment, hiring and retention of staff.
- Assist in the evaluation and supervision of teachers.

**Pedagogy and Education**:

- Ensure that the school's daily practices are implemented.
- Contribute to the implementation of academic programs with the IB PYP and MYP coordinators.
- Assist in planning and implementing special events as well as activities for the community, and organizing events (shows, concerts, information sessions, meetings with parents).
- Develop and Manage After School Programs for students.
- Ensure common understanding for TCPS values in terms of positive student behaviour.
- Work with teachers to ensure the well-being of students and encourage them to respect the TCPS code of conduct.
- Develop communication between parents, students, and school staff, in order to support their child's academic success.

**Administrative and Collaboration Management**:

- Assist the Principal in developing and maintaining the day-to-day operation of the school and ensure that school policies are consistently applied.
- Collaborate in the dissemination of information and promotion of the school.

Collaboration is critical to the overall success of the school. The Vice-Principal will collaborate with different groups or people i.e.
- PYP and MYP Coordinators.
- The IT team to ensure the effective use of new technologies to help support and augment teaching and learning.
- Teachers for the implementation of programmes, in compliance with the various policies in force in the school.
- Parents of students in order to develop positive relationships.

- Instructional leadership.

- Several years of experience in teaching and working in Elementary schools.
- Knowledge of Ontario education and the IB Primary Years Programme / Middle Years Programme would be an additional asset.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, listening, teamwork and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent written and oral skills.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Coordinating multiple projects and events, using strong organizational, time management and project management skills.
- Demonstrated ability to multi-task and ability to be flexible when priorities shift.

**Qualifications**:
Have a university degree in education and a teaching certificate (Bachelor of Education)

A Degree in Education/OCT Certificate preferred
