About this opportunity

Cenovus Energy is currently recruiting for a geology of geophysics summer student to join our Atlantic Region Subsurface Developments Teams

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Subsurface Developments, Atlantic Region, the student will interface with and support the multi-disciplinary team. This involves working with geologists, geophysicists, and simulation engineers to create a reservoir pressure database which supports the team’s overall digitalization goals. A finalized digital database would be a useful tool, adding value by providing a dependable source of data quickly and efficiently for many Cenovus users.

Subsurface Developments is responsible for Cenovus’ interests in exploration and discovered resources that are not at a project sanction stage. Other duties may arise for the student as the business need evolves for the team during this period.

This position is a full-time, temporary located in our St. John’s office.

**Responsibilities**:
- Compile, quality check, and finalize reservoir pressure point data- Build or populate a digital pressure point database or Spotfire dashboard to create a single database for this data- Assist team with additional duties as required.

**Qualifications**:
- Legally entitled to work in Canada for the duration of your work term and able to produce documentation (e.g., work visa)- Available to work between May 1st and Aug 25th, 2023.

Education- Must be currently enrolled in a Geology or Geophysics Program at an accredited post-secondary institution and returning to full-time studies after the work term- Students currently enrolled in either a Masters or P.HD program at an accredited post-secondary institution may also be considered- Attached copies of transcripts
