**WHAT’S THE OPPORTUNITY?**

We have an exciting opportunity for an **Another Youth Creation (AYC) Facilitator** to join our Community and Youth Development team In this role you’ll be responsible for planning and facilitating weekly programming with a focus on health, nutrition, physical activity and creative expression from a foundation of youth engagement. The AYC Facilitator provides a positive example of healthy living to the participants and is an ongoing support to children and their families.

**WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING**:

- Builds and establishes trusting, supportive, and creative relationships with clients who live within the Region through program/service delivery
- Identifies, develops, and coordinates treatment goals and plans in collaboration with the client
- Encourages support from within the client’s social network and support system (e.g. friends, family, neighbours, volunteers, and peer groups)
- Monitors clients’ progress, provides support, guidance, assistance (typically in structured program settings)
- Recommends, develops, and facilitates appropriate educational or physical well-being programming
- Motivates and supports clients to work towards achievement of their goals
- Solicits regular feedback from the client regarding their progress towards their goals

**WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR**:

- Demonstrated experience in programs such as camp leadership, summer playground, 4h activity or similar programs for children and youth
- Volunteer experience with appropriate age group
- Resourceful self-starter, with knowledge of program requirements for planning, implementing and overseeing all components
- Strong interpersonal skills required for contact with participants, parents, suppliers and schools; especially the attributes of courtesy, tact, discretion, providing detailed explanations, persuasion, interpretation, negotiation, counselling and diplomacy
- Excellent oral and written communication skills are required for this role
- Very organized and detail oriented, with the ability to multi task while managing the work load
- Ability to manage deadlines, time pressures and solving problems
- Team player/client oriented with previous experience in the community services industry

**ARE THERE BONUS POINTS?**
- Previous group facilitation experience
- Ability to speak more than one language

**ANYTHING ELSE I SHOULD KNOW?**:

- This is a one-year contract part time position
- Program is hosted at Keatsway Public School
- Hours of work are typically two nights a week plus planning and preparation
- Satisfactory Police Information Check is required
- Must be able to provide either proof of vaccination or documentation providing a satisfactory reason under the Ontario Human Rights Code for not being vaccinated
- Wage: $21.90-$30.92
- This role is a Practicing Professional 1 (PS3)
