Security Guard

Barber Collins Security is looking to hire several full time Security Guard for a new client location that is South of Barrie in Bradford, ON.

**Obtaining a personal vehicle is mandatory as this site has no access to a bus route.**

**Shifts**:
*Schedule will be based off of a mandatory 2-week rotation

Must be able to commit to the assigned schedule consisting of:

- Available to work 12 hour shifts of days and/or over nights. Total of 44 hours per week.
- Shifts are structured to be 4 shifts in week 1 and 3 shifts in the following week (7 shifts in a 14 day period).
- Would be required/expected to work every second weekend.
- Must be available weekdays/weeknights, weekends and statutory holidays.
- Must be extremely flexible and available.

**Responsibilities**:

- Conduct regular foot patrols
- Protect company’s property and staff by maintaining a safe and secure environment.
- Take accurate notes of unusual occurrences.
- Monitor and control access at building entrances and vehicle gates.
- Watch alarm systems or video cameras and operate detecting/emergency equipment.
- Access control for the facility/area.
- Log in and allow access to trucks and trailers
- Demonstrating judgement, common sense, and decision-making ability, particularly when required to take charge and direct others in emergencies or other incidents.
- Input employee information into card access system. Make access cards.
- Keep site supervisor, Operations Manager aware of operational issues

**Skills**:

- Proven work experience as a security guard or relevant position.
- Trained Security Guard with a diploma in a related field.
- Ability to operate detecting systems and emergency equipment.
- Excellent knowledge of public safety and security procedures/protocols.
- Surveillance skills and detail orientation.
- Integrity and professionalism.
- Ability to operate security equipment/systems, computers, radios, phones.
- Meticulous record keeping, report writing, observation skills.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: $21.00 per hour

Expected hours: 44 per week

- 12 hour shift
- Day shift
- Monday to Friday
- Night shift
- Weekends as needed
