GENERAL STATEMENT

Reporting to the Coordinator, Retail Services, the Retail Services Associate I is a member of the retail staff acting as the face of the Bookstore and performs a range of duties including cashier which support the mission and goals of the Bookstore. Retail Services Associates are located at Bookstores on each campus

TYPICAL DUTIES
- Performs a variety of activities using the Bookstore’s point of sale system, including opening and closing functions, handling large volumes of transactions and cash balancing at the end of the day, checking receipts, prepare receipts for deposit;
- Completes locker and rental functions using the point of sale system, including entering and maintaining accurate customer/rental information in the relevant module; maintains confidentiality of student information to meet privacy and security requirements;
- Performs inventory checks and balances and ensures that shelves are stocked and labelled correctly;
- Stocks, refolds and tidies bookstore products and stocks; participates in maintaining a clean and attractive retail and work environment;
- Assists with ecommerce fulfillment by picking and packing products for orders for in-store click & collect or for ship-from-store services;
- Distributes and tracks online order pickups for in-store click & collect services
- During peak business periods complete crowd control measures as directed by supervisor to assist with in-store customer volumes;
- Performs other related duties similar in scope and complexity.

QUALIFICATIONS

Grade 12 plus one-year retail training, and one year of retail sales experience with a computerized point-of-sale system or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- proven excellent customer service and interpersonal skills for providing service to students, employees and the general public;
- basic keyboarding and ability to use the full Microsoft Office suite (Word, Access, Excel, and Outlook)
- a team player with demonstrated organizational skills.

**Job Type**: Casual

**Salary**: $26.67-$28.40 per hour

Day range:

- Monday to Friday

Work Location: In person
