The Met has been a gospel lighthouse in the nation’s capital since 1931. We are strategically located in the nation’s capital of 1,000,000, with proximity to parliamentarians, and the nations’ representatives from around the world. We have the opportunity and responsibility to provide the real gospel to this influential group. The Executive Pastor is part of the Pastoral Executive Team (PET) providing oversight and coordination of all of the MET Operations and their teams consistent with the goal of advancing the Met’s mission to promote the faith and spiritual teachings of Jesus Christ, engaging people with the gospel, establishing believers in the gospel, and equipping servants of the gospel. The incumbent will be a driver on the Pastoral Executive Team to further the church’s mission and develop and implement strategic plans to bring the Met to the next level of growth alongside providing strong strategic leadership to The Met’s missions portfolio.

The **Executive Pastor** is responsible for strategic planning, broad ministry oversight, operations and management of The Met. He works alongside the Lead Pastor who provides input, but primarily focuses on the teaching and preaching aspect of the Church.

The Executive Pastor has 10 direct reports and oversees the 35 staff of the Church. Each direct report heads a particular department/ministry of the Church.

**Reporting Relationship**:
The Executive Pastor reports to the Lead Pastor and meets with him regularly for prayer, review, encouragement, and planning. He also works closely with the Board of Directors for governance related matters.

**Experience and Education**:

- A Master of Divinity degree from an institution of repute.
- A minimum of 8 to 10 years of pastoral ministry experience including leadership in world missions.
- A clear sense of calling to ministry and gifting of spiritual leadership.

**Character**:
The incumbent should be a mature Christian, godly in character and exhibiting the traits of an elder as described in 1 Timothy 3 and Titus 1 and have a particular heart for the mission of the church as prescribed in the New Testament. The incumbent must be a member of The Met in good standing or willing to become a member in the immediate future.

**Relational Style**:
The Executive Pastor relates well to the congregation, budding missionaries, and to our MET missionaries on the field, is an active listener, sensitive to the matters being discussed, respects the information shared as per legal parameters, disagrees well and then respects the decisions made, and is a good team player. He is flexible, adaptable, and aligned to the priorities of the Pastoral Executive Team (PET).

**1. Strategy**: Lead all executive and management functions of The Met, ensuring alignment with the church's overall mission and vision, developing and implementing comprehensive strategic plans and overseeing their implementation.

**2. Operations**: Provide direct oversight for all operational aspects, including facility, infrastructure, communication strategies, policies, and record-keeping.

**3. Human Resources**: Manage the hiring and development of The Met's human resources, ensuring staff are empowered and compliant with relevant policies and regulations. Oversee and manage senior staff heading various departments/ministries of the church, including Men’s Pastor, Young Adults Pastor, Youth Pastor, Pastor to the Seniors, Pastor of Communication, Children’s Ministry Director, Care Ministry Director, Women’s Ministry Director, Facility Manager, Officer Manager, and Finance Officer. Conduct regular ministry operations meetings with the leaders to provide support, guidance, mentorship, evaluation, conflict resolution, and overall direction in accordance with teachings and the Met’s vision, in consultation with the Lead Pastor.

**4. Finance**: Provide diligent biblical stewardship over the church's resources, overseeing financial administration, budgeting, and financial reporting, working closely with the Lead Pastor and Board of Directors.

**5. Board**: Act as the primary liaison with the Board of Directors, providing regular progress updates and evaluations based on the church's mission and goals.

**6. Pastoral**: Support the preaching ministry and engaging in others pastoral duties as required.
