Micro Analyst

Nortera is currently looking for a highly motivated, energetic team member to join us as a Micro Analyst (Seasonal), reporting to the Department Supervisor, you will benefit from the skills and knowledge of an experienced team who are committed to continuous improvement. This is a fast-paced perishable vegetable products environment where the Micro Analyst assist to the Quality Department with completing routine micro analysis for all products and facilities as required, while communicating all results and identifying non-compliant situations. Days and hours of work will fluctuate with operational demands on a continental schedule.

**Main Responsibilities**:

- Prepare all medias used in micro lab for testing
- Complete micro testing (TPC, Coliform, E. coli) as required on all bulk, frozen packaged product, ingredients, and in process swabs
- Complete thermophile and flat sour testing on cream-style corn, cooker, cooler and blancher water, liquid sugar, and specific customer bulk samples
- Complete listeria testing on all environmental swabs as required
- Communicate all micro results on a timely basis and identify any problems that require product to be placed on hold; request additional samples if needed and recommend solution to QA Manager
- Conduct water, chloride, and sugar analysis as required
- Grade incoming bulk and ingredients as requested
- Maintain all records of analysis in an orderly manner; input results as necessary into excel spreadsheets for further analyzing
- Maintain inventory of lab supplies
- Complete other duties as assigned

**Qualifications**:

- Experience or educational background in a related field would be an asset
- Must be well organized and have the ability to simultaneously manage a variety of tasks and priorities
- Must be detail-oriented
- Ability to compile, analyze, and interpret data
- High level of proficiency in Excel and Microsoft products
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to work flexible hours in a seven day a week operation, weekend work will be required

**Salary**: $17.00 per hour
