Autism Nova Scotia delivers programming in Halifax and in nine communities across Nova Scotia through our Regional Autism Centres. Our three program divisions are: Social & Community Inclusion; Employment Support; and Family & Caregiver Support.

**Chapter Navigator**:

- **Annapolis Valley Chapter Autism NS**

**Full Time Position**: 40 hours a week
**Time**: commencing February 2023
**Location**: Annapolis Valley
**Salary range**: $40,000.00-$42,000.00

**What you’ll be doing**

As a part of the core team, the Chapter Navigator will seek opportunities to create understanding, acceptance, and inclusion for autism and foster relationship building in communities across the region. This position provides evidence-based/best practice approaches, focusing on individualized support.
- Education and Capacity Building to increase autism understanding, inclusion & acceptance at the community level.
- One-on-one family support and navigation to resources
- Community engagement events, celebrations, and special projects
- Organizing recreational and social learning opportunities for autistics across the lifespan & special projects for chapter
- Administrative/operational duties, support local and provincial fundraising, grant writing/reporting, solicit donations.

**What we’re looking for**

A leader who will direct and oversee the organization, implementation, and evaluation of identified programs, events and capacity building related to the Autism NS Mission & Vision in the Annapolis Valley Chapter.

This includes but is not limited to:

- Managing/booking of facilities across the region conducting program outreach
- Program Registration, assessment of participant needs for inclusion, processing fees
- Advertise related programs, events or education sessions; update social media
- Follow up surveys, evaluations of activities for improvement.
- Tracking and management of data
- Volunteer/summer camp staff recruitment, orientation, support, and management
- Communicate and report to stakeholders within Autism NS & the Chapter
- Build partnerships-connections to development of supportive, sensory friendly environments.
- General Office Management

As part of the Regional Autism Center team, build linkages with key organizations in the community to work towards a seamless continuum of service delivery.

You have:
**Minimum qualifications**:

- Post-Secondary Degree/Diploma in a related field (Education, Health, Human Services) or equivalent job experience.
- A valid driver’s license and access to an insured vehicle required.
- Knowledge and understanding of Autism; experience working with autistics across the lifespan and their caregivers.
- Knowledge of community development, local services/resources, program management and social thinking models are an asset.
- Previous grant writing practice and supervisory skills preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal communication abilities and good listening skills required.
- Strong leadership skills, good organizational ability, and keen attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint, Boardmaker, Canva

**Salary**: $40,000.00-$42,000.00 per year
