**Shifts: Days/Evenings including weekends**
**Rate of Pay: $32.62 - 33.08** per hour**

St. Joseph's Care Group Youth Addictions Program is seeking a temporary full time Therapeutic Recreationist. As part of a multidisciplinary team, the successful applicant develops, organizes and implements therapeutic and leisure life treatment plans and programs designed to assist individuals with mental health and/or substance use in order to attain an optimal level of health well-being.

**Qualifications**:

- Degree/Diploma in Therapeutic Recreation or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Registered with, or demonstrated eligibility for registration with the Canadian Therapeutic Recreation Association or similar related associations and Therapeutic Recreation Ontario
- Specialized experience or certification required; i.e., Driver's Safety Course, Current First Aid and CPR
- Experience in Therapeutic Recreation programming as it relates to programs offered within a multidisciplinary team
- Knowledge of mental health and addictions, including crisis intervention skills
- Experience and demonstrated understanding of Indigenous Culture and Northern Communities
- Knowledge of addictions and familiarity with working in a residential setting, including crisis intervention skills
- Experience working with individuals across the lifetime; e.g. youth, adults and older adults
- Proven interpersonal, group and teaching skills
- Ability to work flexible hours
- Valid Ontario driver's license, access to a reliable vehicle and adequate insurance
- Demonstrated regular attendance at work

CONDITION OF EMPLOYMENT
- This position shall be conditional upon a satisfactory Police Vulnerable Sector Check (PVSC) whereindicated, to ensure the absence of relevant criminal convictions.
