Clear Path Recovery is a small business in Port Moody, BC. We are a newly opened facility dedicated to to providing support and to education to men recovering from addiction to drugs and alcohol. We do this through facilitation of our live
- in treatment programs keeping members and families educated and informed, providing links to community affiliations, as well as through ongoing support after individuals have returned to their communities.
We are in the process of finding employees who can grow in our company. We hold employees values and opinions very highly and look forward to adding caring dedicated individuals to our team.
We are currently seeking an addictions counsellor to work closely with our residents to provide one on one counselling and group counselling sessions. Our counsellor will be essential in the ongoing development and revaluation of our program, to ensure evidence based practices are up to date and effective. This position is available as full-time, part-time and casual. The position requires strong interpersonal skills, a desire to help others and a willingness to go above and beyond to ensure our residents feel safe and cared for. The counsellors will be working with adult males who are in recovery from addictions. We're looking for an energetic person who has excellent communication skills, is punctual and is willing to help out in any way possible.
**Responsibilities**:
- Take care of the mental, physical and social needs of clients.
- Transportation of residents to and from appointments and outings.
- Engaging with and providing support to residents as they work through the recovery program.
- Respecting boundaries of residents when necessary.
- Know how to respond effectively to emergency situations, such as accidents, fire, and life-threatening medical conditions.
- Avoid abusive behaviours while under extreme stress or pressure.
- Respect the cultural and religious differences of co-workers and clients.
- Understand how to use typical house-hold equipment.
- Work in a team setting with others.
- Understand internal policies, procedures, and protocols.
Qualifications:
- Certified addictions counsellor, with at least one year of experience in the field of counselling or equivalent.
- Criminal Record Check
