The **Hamilton Conservatory for the Arts **is located at 126 James Street South in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. Students of all ages can immerse themselves in over 100 arts programs including music, dance, visual arts, acting and more. At HCA, we pride ourselves on the quality of our programming, the professional credentials of our instructors and the wide selection of classes within each discipline which our customers can choose from. We offer dance classes in ballet, jazz, modern dance, hip hop and creative movement.

**Ballet Instructor Responsibilities**:

- Follow all teaching outlines and guidelines set out in the teacher handbook.
- Create a fun, effective and exciting atmosphere for students.
- Teach ballet from a strong, classical foundation to students on a variety of levels.
- Prepare choreography for recitals
- Maintain appropriate staff/student relationships.
- Attend rehearsals, performances and examinations as required.
- Produce student progress reports as required.
- Record and report on student attendance.
- Communicate with parents of students as required and take notes of conversations with parents.
- Come prepared with class materials, music and playlists, props (if required), and keep detailed notes about your class plans.
- Any other duties as may reasonably be required and that fall within the scope and range of the job.

**Ballet Instructor Qualifications**:

- Minimum 3 years of teaching experience at Primary level for Ballet.
- Society of Classical Ballet - Vaganova Method certification an asset.
- Cecchetti Method Certification will also be considered
- Successful completion of accredited teacher training programs is an asset.
- Flexible attitude towards duties and working patterns in order to fulfill the requirements of the role.
- Highly effective communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills are required in working with individuals at all levels.
- A collaborative, team-building spirit, seeking and celebrating the contribution of others.

This position is based in Hamilton. Working on-site is required.

**Salary**: From $30.00 per hour
