Crusher Superintendent

The Crusher Superintendent is responsible for the day to day safety, operation and maintenance of the mobile crusher plants and the supervision and training of assigned staff.
**DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES**
**Safety**
- Ensure all policies and procedures are followed
- Assist in regulatory, on the job and reoccurring training when required
- Incident reporting and investigating; work with safety to determine root cause analysis and go forward plans on prevention and communication on all incidents, accidents and personal injury
- Hazard identification and implementation of corrective measures
- Hold daily tool box talks and weekly safety meetings
**Operations**
- Equipment
- Ensure preventative maintenance and repairs are complete in a timely manner
- Liaise with shop to schedule major repairs in down time
- In conjunction with Project Managers ensure that equipment is scheduled and onsite for job start ups
- Provide technical support to Project Managers for bidding and tendering when required
- Set up, tear down of plan and coordination of all movements
- Production
- Monitor production to ensure targets are met on each plant and advise on quantities produced on a daily basis
- Meet projects deadlines and advise Project Managers immediately when meeting deadlines becomes and issue
- Update B2W Program (Build to Win) with data relevant to production including daily employee time
- Material
- Must ensure knowledge is current with material specs as well as be familiar with the aggregate which will be produced from different geographical locations
- Ensure product being produced meets applicable specification
**Staff & Leadership**
- Provide and maintain a positive attitude amongst crews, leading by example
- Work with Crew Coordinator to coordinate crews and turn arounds for all crushing projects
- Work with General Superintendent and Crew Coordinator to determine current and future staffing needs
- Assist in the selection of new hires
- Providing coaching, counseling and discipline when required and report all employee matters to General Superintendent
**EDUCATION, TRAINING & EXPERIENCE**
- 10 plus years experience working on a mobile or stationary crusher plant
- Mine Safety Supervisor Ticket Level 2
- Minimum Standard First Aid with CPR
- Basic computer skills
- Previous experience supervising up to 12-15 staff
- Proven leadership abilities through safety records, production quantities and meeting completion deadlines
- Must have good verbal and written communications skills
- A solid preventative maintenance, electrical and quality control background is required
- Applicant must have the ability to interact with clients, subcontractors and vendors as well as company supervisors and management in a professional and diplomatic fashion
