Nasta Construction is a Winnipeg based company that specializes in commercial multifamily, rehabilitations and general contracting. We are looking to expand our team, we are looking for an Highly skilled, energetic and motivated Red Seal Carpenter/On site Foreman.

Nasta Construction is seeking a mature, motivated, polite, professional, and skilled individual who carries supervisory traits such as scheduling, logístical planning, delegation, blueprint reading and safety program execution.

**FULL JOB DESCRIPTION**:
Nasta Construction is looking for a Red Seal Carpenter to work at multiple sites within Winnipeg.

An ideal applicant should be able to present the following skill-sets and abilities.

**PRIMARY APPLICANT CONSIDERATIONS**:

- Minimum 3 to 5 years of Construction Site Superintendent experience in Multi-Family Residential, Light Commercial, Strip Malls & Commercial Tenant Improvements.
- Relevant supervisor training and education through an accredited prograM/Facility is required.
- COR Safety training and CSAM courses are a requirement.
- Ability to introduce and implement continuous improvements such as scheduling, policies, procedures, systems/ strategies, and safety.
- Knowledge of project plans, specifications, blueprints and building elevations. Extensive knowledge of site equipment
- Strong computer skills related to Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, Visio, PowerPoint, Primavera P6 scheduling experience is an asset.
- Valid Drivers license

**DUTIES**:
Nasta Construction Red seal carpenter/Foreman will work on multiple construction sites and coordinate with project managers to ensure accurate and up-to-date reports. As needed, they will perform duties of their trade, working alongside those they oversee. In addition, a person who holds this position must ensure that a particular project is within the parameters of a set budget and relevant laws/building codes.
- Support the growth and development of company culture and professionally represent Nasta Construction
- Supervising, coordinating and directing the daily activities of construction trades-people and Client, consultant and city inspection walkthroughs for site review.
- Resolving work problems and recommending measures to improve productivity and product quality
- Demonstrates analytical skills with strong attention to detail and presentation
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and sketches for accuracy and constructability and to determine specifications and calculate material requirements.
- Quantifying materials and supplies
- Provide technical assistance, analysis and documentation support for the team
- Identify discrepancies in contract scopes of work and disciplines
- Prepare layouts in conformance with building codes using measuring tools
- Supervising, coordinating and scheduling the activities of related apprentices, helpers and labourers
- Maintaining schedules and coordinating work activities with other departments/subcontractors/supervisors/managers
- Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel, and other materials to construct, erect, install, maintain, and repair structures, such as foundations, walls, roofs, and columns.
- Fit and install trim items, such as doors, stairs, molding, casing, baseboard, and hardware
- Use hand and power tools to cut, shape, and finish wood and other materials to achieve desired finishes.
- Performs other duties as required

**POSITION REQUIREMENTS**:

- This position requires an individual who can work both independently and within a team environment.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to interact efficiently with individuals from other trades or outside organizations are required.
- Demonstrates independence in meeting productivity and quality targets and able to do quantity take-offs for material and fasteners for carpentry projects
- Work in conjunction with crew members to complete field projects or tasks.
- Displays high levels of motivation, energy, and forward-thinking.
- Listens attentively and follows instructions carefully.
- Ability to stay organized and maintain focus on tasks spread over multiple sites
- Demonstrates knowledge and compliance with health & safety regulations, procedures, and company policies.
- ability to organize and lead small crew sizes on a day-to-day and week-to-week basis
- Adheres to project specifications and timelines ensuring high standards of quality and efficiency.
- Proficient with construction documentation requirements and processes
- able to read and decipher Architectural, Structural and Civil drawings
- Superior computer skills and technical writing
