Mission, Canada V.I.P. Soap Products Full time

Interactions, reactions, bonds and transformations - that’s what chemistry is all about. These words don’t just describe your chosen discipline, but also embody the characteristics of the environment in which you’d love to work and build your career.

You value great relationships with your colleagues, and you’d love to work on a close-knit team, where your career and personal development is valued.

We’re V.I.P. Soap Products Ltd., and we have what you’re looking for. And you are our next Junior Chemist.

We are a family-owned manufacturer of biodegradable, eco-friendly soap and laundry products. We were the first manufacturer in Canada to produce biodegradable products, and we’ve been in business for over 65 years because of our high quality and affordability.

Junior Chemist

As our new Junior Chemist, your primary responsibility will be to support our Lead Chemist in all routine lab activities. With your laboratory background, you’ll feel comfortable here, and be able to jump right in.

You’ll also have an opportunity to work and develop relationships beyond the lab, by assisting colleagues across departments as needed. You’ll gain a strong familiarity with our entire production process, from the factory and production lines, to the warehouse and raw material storage departments.

You’re flexible, and can react and adapt quickly to new environments and changing priorities day-to-day. Your great organization skills keep you on top of all the details you handle as you perform tasks like analysis, record-keeping of results, documentation verification, and maintenance of lab supply inventories. You won’t have any trouble handling related data entry, and you’ll take satisfaction in your ability to maintain accurate records.

On a practical level, you’ll also perform the following tasks:

- Chemical analysis of raw materials, titrations, evaluation of instrumentation
- Mixing liquid and powder detergents
- Standardization of instrumentation
- Assist production QC, when necessary
- SDS maintenance and response to requests for documentation
- Perform laundry wash test and hand dishwashing test
- Purchase of laboratory chemicals, glassware, reagents, test swatches and lab equipment

You love working in the lab, and you’re looking to develop a career here. As you learn and grow as a chemist, you will establish yourself as a leader in our lab, and will eventually be able independently handle all lab responsibilities, providing full coverage for our Lead Chemist, when needed.

We have a highly positive work culture, and many of our employees have been here for well over 10 years, and we think that says a lot
