Zoo Tour Guide

Reptilia Whitby is looking for outgoing individuals to give our guests an amazing Behind the Scenes experience on weekends and holidays

**Tour guides must**:

- Be able to deliver a fun, engaging and educational tour with a wide variety of group sizes and ages
- Properly communicate facts and information about reptiles in an accurate and age-appropriate manner
- Be comfortable handling and feeding reptiles
- Be comfortable overseeing and directing guest interactions with animals, in a way that keeps both guests and animals safe and comfortable
- Have excellent time management and organization skills
- Be able to work under pressure with deadlines
- Have excellent customer service and conflict resolution
- Be able to work independently and in a team setting
- Be available to work on weekends and school holidays (eg. PA days, March Break, Summer Break, etc.)
- Be able to provide a clear Vulnerable Sector Check

**Preferred Qualifications**:

- At least 1 year experience working with reptiles
- At least 1 year experience in customer service
- At least 1 year experience in sales
- At least 1 year experience in public speaking, ideally with young audiences

**Job Type**: Part-time, Casual. 8-hour days. 8-16 hours per week, with more hours available on holidays.

**Experience**:

- Reptile: 1 year (preferred)
- Customer Service: 1 year (preferred)
