**RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Selecting and mixing coating paints to desired color and prepare spraying equipment such as cleaning or adjusting spray guns.
- Be capable of reading and understanding technical documents such as paint mixing procedures and maintaining sprayer equipment as required.
- Prepare parts for painting including buffing, deburring, washing, and masking.
- Have the ability and desire to become efficient with painting techniques, meet company productivity rates, maintain mil thickness, and learn all aspects of job as required.
- Willingness to take direction from area lead and follow that direction and to be a self-starter when not working under direct supervision.
- Cleaning spraying equipment with solvent or other recommended cleaning solutions daily.
- Maintaining the paint mix area while following the company safety policies.
- Operating the steam washer to clean steel according to specified safety requirements.
- Maintaining proper respirator care and operation and using the breathing air supply system when spraying paints.

**QUALIFICATIONS**:
**Education**: Grade 12 or equivalent

**Experience**: 2-3 years’ experience as a painter

(Preferably in a manufacturing/production environment.)

**Specific Skill Ability and Knowledge**:

- Capable of operating safely all painting equipment and paint booth controls.
- Hands-on experience working with heavy lift equipment such as lift trucks and cranes.
- Knowledge and skill in hazardous materials handling and disposal.
- Knowledge of correct use of protective clothing, breathing apparatus and ventilation devices.
- Knowledge and ability to accurately mix paints and thinning agents.
- Must be able to work on multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Other duties as assigned.

**Physical Demands**:
While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand. The employee is frequently required to walk; use hands to finger, (operate spray gun) handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb, balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
