Drafter

**Who we are**: A residential design firm based in Waterloo, ON. At KSCD we do it all, timberframe, log homes, ICF, SIPS, conventional framing, trusses, renovations, new homes, additions, decks, sheds and more. Our goal is to provide our clients with high quality design & drafting services and we are looking for someone to join our team. We provide a comfortable, low pressure, relaxed work environment with flexible hours up to 30-40 hours per week.

**Position Summary - Senior Draftsperson**

**Responsibilities**:

- Prepare custom residential drawings for new builds, renovations and additions using SoftPlan.
- Provide assistance to other team members and contribute to projects at any stage of the
design process when required.
- Successfully generate 3D renderings.
- Maintain organized project files, drawings, documents and project record keeping.
- Organize workload and manage time effectively to ensure on-time completion of assigned projects.
- Participate in various administrative and client support duties, such as meetings to review assigned projects and on-site measuring.

**Skills**:

- Must be proficient (advanced) in AutoCAD, previous experience with SoftPlan is preferred but not required.
- Strong understanding and knowledge with applicable laws and regulations, specifically the Ontario Building Code (Part 9).
- Ability to problem-solve, work independently and show initiative.
- Must have the ability to communicate clearly and effectively, verbal and written with other team members and clients.
- Ability to collaborate efficiently in a team environment.
- Excellent organization, attention to detail and time management skills are critical.

**Education and Experience**:

- Diploma in Construction Engineering, Architectural Technology, or equivalent post
- secondary education or experience.
- Minimum of 5 years drafting experience.
- Intermediate to advanced knowledge and skills in residential design is a must.
- Prior experience in construction is an asset.
- Starting wage will depend on skills and experience, $25.00/hr min._

**Job Type**: Part-time, Contract

Monday-Friday, up to 30-40 hours per week, flexible work hours available
