**JOB DESCRIPTION - ESTIMATOR MANAGER**

Responsible for the completion of detailed, accurate proposals, the Cabinet Estimator is accountable to the Project and Builders Director and oversees assessing the cost estimates for new projects involving cabinets. This job is crucial to the business's early interactions with clients and necessary for securing fresh orders that are advantageous for both the company and the client. In order to appropriately price bids, produce choices that showcase our competitive advantage, and generate new sales orders, the role closely collaborates with the project and sales team, the suppliers, professionals, the owners and general contractors.

**Responsibilities**
- Review plans and bid requirements;
- Identify inconsistent, vague, or incomplete scope details and create RFIs to successfully remediate the concern or, in the absence of resolution, allow for the specification of the item's treatment within the final proposal;
- Develops estimates for multiple cabinet finish levels for projects incorporating cost of materials, labor, overhead, and profit margin;
- Provides suggestions to reduce costs and recommendations;
- Actively and timely communicate with customers to ensure initial understanding of project requirements, confirm submitted proposals align with project requirements, and where applicable support post-bid evaluations and value engineering efforts;
- Attends pre-bid and pre-construction meetings;
- Coordinate subcontract solicitations and job walks;
- Support Sales and consistently follows up on submitted bids and budgets with client to close business;
- Follow up on update purchasing and production for material & capacity planning;
- Provide overview with the Project Manager and Shop Drawing Admin for complete shop drawing submittal to the Contractor;
- Review Contract, complete ERC Project Addendum if required and return to Contractor;
- Provide ongoing support to the Contractor and complete change orders as required;
- Must assist the Project Manager/coordinator with the initial order entry;
- Builds strong win-win relationships with other departments, including project management, production, accounting and company management, suppliers and subcontractors;
- Complete other responsibilities as assigned.

**Skills & Qualifications**
- 5-10 years experience as an estimator in residential, architectural, commercial millwork or cabinet project estimating;
- Knowledge of estimating and understand the means and methods for the engineering, fabrication, finishing and installation of architectural woodwork, casework and millwork;
- Organizational skills and ability to multi-task;
- Ability to assess bid opportunities, manage bid schedule, attend site/scope review meetings, and maintain productive client communications;
- Experience in estimating change orders; creating schedules utilizing state-of-the-art software;
- Ability to negotiate with existing and prospective clients to close the sale;
- Minimum 3-5 years’ experience and demonstrated ability of kitchen design software; ideally 20.20;
- Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in reading blueprints, drawings, renderings, specifications and general understanding of project scheduling and construction;
- Superior math skills & innovative decision making and problem-solving skills;
- AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, Adobe proficiency are required;
- Basic drafting/drawing background
