Working as a part of a team, a Project Manager will be responsible for project supervision, establishing preliminary construction schedules, procurement of materials, obtaining all permits and construction approvals, including ECO plans, coordinating subcontractors, reconciling quantities, preparing progress billings as well as the implementation of the Safety Management Guide and project safety plans. This role will also be accountable for completing quantity take-offs, preparing cost estimates, communicating with crews, and sub-trades to determine best work practices, as well as financial needs to complete the project.

**Project Management**:

- Manage and direct the project teams through concise communication, coordination, and follow up necessary to meet the project goals and objectives.
- Preparation of the tender process, budgets, estimates, and construction schedule.
- Establish project procedures consistent with contractual documents and the Safety Management Guide.
- Ensure all work products are consistent with industry standards and are under applicable codes and specifications.
- Ensure the scope of work, schedule, and budget are clearly defined and understood by senior management and all project participants, including the client.
- Determine, control, and maintain overall project and discipline schedules and budgets
- Track schedule and budget progress with project milestones and take all actions necessary for compliance with deadlines.\
- Coordinate training and compliance measures to ensure project procedures are followed.
- Identify and secure necessary approvals for all changes in the project scope, budget and/ or schedule.
- Maintain ongoing communication with a client, adjusting as necessary to comply with the client’s needs within contractual obligations, or adjusting project deliverables to align with the client’s and company’s needs.

**Onsite Inspections**:

- Conduct site inspection for tender and or post-tender understanding, analysis of conditions and assessment of risk and identification of activities that may or may not be shown in tender documents.
- Attend and participate in onsite meetings with clients, owners, representatives, staff, sub-trades, suppliers, and other project stakeholders.

**THE IDEAL CANDIDATE FOR THIS POSITION WILL POSSESS THE FOLLOWING**:

- Professional Engineer(P.Eng.) designation
- Heavy construction experience.
- Minimum 5 to 10+ years of relevant experience.
- Road Construction & Water Sewer Experience.
- Competency at reading and interpreting plans and specifications.
- Knowledge & experience with Hard Dollar, Microsoft 365 or other ERP Systems.
- Exceptional verbal & written, presentation skills.
- Effective negotiations, diplomatic conflict resolution skills.
- Highly skilled & knowledgeable on contract law.
- Knowledgeable of local, provincial, and federal compliance, regulations, ordinances, and legislation.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification or the intent to pursue certification is an asset.
- Experience with supervising a construction crew; experience in heavy civil construction is an asset.
- Experience with industrial Oil Sand Industry Operations is an asset.
- Experience with obtaining permits, site access, and meeting safety requirements with industrial sites is an asset.
- Valid Class 5 Operators License, clean Driver’s Abstract.
