Horne Smelter operates a copper smelter in Rouyn-Noranda and produces 225,000 metric tons (mt) of copper annually by processing 840,000 mt of copper concentrates and recyclable materials containing copper and precious metals. It also operates a sulfuric acid plant. Horne Smelter employs 650 people, excluding contractors.

Horne Foundry is fully committed to the continuous reduction of emissions and is looking for dynamic and motivated people to get involved in its major transformation process called AERIS, whose major steps include the modernization of its facilities, the transitional improvements of the current capture systems and the optimization of the facilities around the plant in order to reduce emissions to the lowest possible level

The main pillar, plant modernization, involves the construction of a new state-of-the-art plant section, housing a high-tech process to reduce emissions at source, valued at $480M and phased over 5 years.

**About the role**:
Reporting to the Manager of Procurement and Major Projects Contracts, the incumbent leads strategic procurement files for goods and services required for Horne Foundry's Aeris program and conducts the bidding process in accordance with project managers' needs and company policies.

This person is responsible for performing purchasing and related contractual tasks based on team requests and established procedures, while meeting the requirements of the company's sustainable development policy for supply chain management.

**More specifically, you will be expected to**:

- Develops, implements and monitors procurement strategies for the projects under her responsibility;
- Prepare the required documentation and actively participate in the tender management process;
- Negotiate best cost acquisition agreements within the specified time frame;
- Recommend to project managers the offer based on the total cost;
- Ensure that proposals adequately address technical needs
- Carry out qualification and performance evaluation of suppliers;
- Administer contracts for goods and services,
- Coordinate delivery times and communicate with the supplier on issues related to quality or non-conformity of shipments;
- Manage the business relationship with the assigned suppliers;
- Behave in a safe manner and have a constant concern for the health and safety of self, colleagues and business partners.

**Do you have what it takes?**
- University degree or college diploma in administration, procurement or any other related field;
- Experience procurement for construction projects is an asset. In addition, holding a professional accreditation related to the function (P.G. C.A., P.Log, CPIM) is an important asset;
