Terrestrial Energy is developing for near-term commercial operation, a zero-emissions cogeneration plant for global industry using its proprietary Integral Molten Salt Reactor (IMSR) fission technology in an innovative, small and modular plant design. The IMSR is a non-Light Water Reactor of the Generation IV class that operates at the high temperature required for broad industrial relevance with transformative economic potential. The IMSR plant is capable of grid-based electric power generation and industrial cogeneration in many energy-intensive industries, including petrochemical and chemical synthesis for hydrogen and ammonia production. The IMSR plant offers a near 50 percent improvement in efficiency of electric power generation compared to Light Water Reactor nuclear plants. Its industrial cogeneration capability delivers to today's markets industrial competitiveness, security of energy, and zero-emissions industrial production. The IMSR plant's use of existing industrial materials, components, and fuels supports its near-term deployment, setting the stage for a rapid global decarbonization of the primary energy system. To execute this plan, we are now looking to add talented people to the team, each of whom will:

**The Safety Manager**, under the direction of Senior Vice Present of Operations & Engineering, is responsible for leadership and management of the team of nuclear safety analysis professionals who develop the complete safety basis including iteration with design activities, and preparation, implementation and approving safety basis documentation n full compliance with national and international regulatory requirements.

Other responsibilities include:

- Collaborating with the managers in other disciplines, such as physics, thermal-hydraulics and mechanical to support safety related studies.
- Provide mentorship to the team as needed.
- Escalate critical issues to higher management.
- Set priorities and ensure staffs are working on prioritized scope of work.
- Lead assigned analysts to find solutions for the issues; If needed, engage additional help from other disciplines or external experts to seek resolution for the issue.
- Foster a good working relationship with staffs, and other managers in the company.
- Developing work scopes and deliverable definitions in compliance with the governing contracts / regulatory documents, quality requirements for the project and any additional customer requirements.
- Review and approve safety analysis related documents and ensure technical work meets the QA program and project requirements.
- Ensure that all project activities are performed in accordance with applicable codes and standards and company quality assurance manuals.
- Provide clear expectations and performance measures, meaningful feedbacks, and recognize and reward achievements of staffs as well as perform appraisals for them regularly.
- Ensure communication (updates) provided on progress of engineering priorities and issues for alignment and awareness to senior management etc.
- Make presentations related to safety analysis/assessments on IMSR design internally and externally to promote the design if required.

**Requirements**:

- M.S. or Ph.D. degree in mechanical engineering or other engineering and scientific disciplines related to thermal fluid sciences from a university of recognized standing in Engineering or Science;
- Fundamental knowledge of conjugate reactor physics, heat transfer and fluid dynamics;
- Demonstrated leadership and management skills to lead a highly technical team in the area of nuclear safety analysis to accomplish the assigned project goals;
- Skilled at developing and maintaining strong relationships across all levels of the organization and with external customers and vendors.
- Strong problem identification and problem resolution skills;
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication (both written and verbal) skills

**Assets**
- Registered as P.Eng. in Professional Engineers Ontario.
- Education / experience in the nuclear field.
- Minimum work experience of 8 years in a related field.
- Two or more years of experience leading engineering teams
