**Responsibilities**:
- Performs the responsibilities of the position within the legislative and regulatory standards set out in the applicable Provincial and Municipal Acts. Performs the responsibilities of the position consistent with the Operational policies of the County of Renfrew.
- Receive and process requests for GIS information, analysis and outputs including hardcopy or digital maps
- Maintains the corporate GIS data using various routines and methods to enter and edit data and ensure data integrity and quality control
- Provides technical support and guidance to users of the County of Renfrew corporate GIS desktop and internet based GIS and peripheral hardware and responds to a variety of public enquiries
- Assist with Special Project Mapping (example Official Plan and Zoning By-laws)
- Assist with the maintenance of County 911 Database and associated GIS Layers
- Protects own health and health of others by adopting safe work practices, reporting unsafe conditions immediately, and attending all relevant in-services regarding occupational health and safety. Follows all guidelines for employees and employers as legislated under the Ontario Occupational Health and Safety Act.
Qualifications:
- Advanced Diploma in GIS or a combination of demonstrated GIS experience and post-secondary education
- At least two years of relevant experience with GIS in support of land related information management, statistical analysis and presentations, with experience working in municipal and planning related fields
- Extensive knowledge of esri products (e.g. ArcMap, ArcPro, ArcGIS Server, ArcGIS Online)
- Experience developing and implementing GIS solutions especially in the areas of productivity, QA/QC, mobile data capture, geospatial analysis, and workflow automation
- Experience with developing web mapping services (e.g. ArcGIS Online)
- Strong cartographic skills including the ability to communicate highly complex information in an accessible and attractive manner
- Strong verbal, written and graphical communication abilities
- Proven ability to document and communicate work in a professional manner
- Strong organization skills
- Excellent problem-solving skills, collaborative decision-making and analytical skills
- Demonstrated experience working as part of an interdisciplinary team
- Ability to create, analyze, edit and maintain planning and land related GIS data and Official Plan/Zoning Mapping, and assessment property parcels.
- Assist with the operation of 9-1-1 Emergency Response System.
- Demonstrated experience to manage complex and conflicting priorities, and the ability to work independently without supervision
- Knowledge of MS-Office
- Private use of vehicle - Must have immediate accessible transportation.
