Scope:
The Data Center of Excellence (DCoE) requires the support of contingent labor in order to deliver on data strategy and data product roadmap items.

Government of Alberta’s (GOA) data strategy implementation leverages a cloud-based Data Fabric approach to organizing and managing GoA data assets. The Data Center of Excellence (DCoE) is expected to support the delivery of various easy to consume data products and services (e.g. analytical models, data dashboards, visualizations, etc.). This will enable data access to GoA stakeholders in support of critical analytical, policy, and legislative functions, processes, and activities.
- Data analysis, analytics, visualization.
- Requirements gathering, documentation, analysis.
- Support data modeling, transformation, data pipeline.
- Interact with clients/partners (GOA-internal and/or external) to provide data products/services and promote the vision of the Data Strategy.

**Duties**:

- Contribute development and implementation of data products in the GoA Data Fabric.
- Using various tools and techniques to analyze data collected from internal and external sources.
- Creating reports, dashboards, and visualizations to present findings in an accessible way to stakeholders.
- Build and maintain data integration processes using variety of ETL and scripting tools.
- Understand business strategies and priorities, and translate those into data product requirements that
- will enable creation of high-value data product solutions.
- Develop comprehensive data product requirements that inform the basis for the Data Fabric to include critical data
- identification & classification, data standards, data governance & management practices, data infrastructure, etc.
- Design and contribute to development of data product initiatives that accomplish the desired transitions and meet
- GoA business needs.
- Support the development, adoption, and implementation of best practices in data management, which includes data architecture, data sharing, data integration, data quality, common data and standardized methodologies.
- Collaborate with business analyst, data analysts, data engineers and other data architects on several projects simultaneously.
- Contribute to development of data sharing, data integration, data quality, common data and standardized methodologies.
- Participate in design reviews, regular or ad-hoc framework reviews - ensuring correct interpretation of the data delivery process.
- Respond to requests for extensions to the scope of the data product framework, as needed.
- Work with developers and supporting information technology (IT) resources to manage active data products and process changes, as needed.
- Provide support to team members, as needed.

Deliverables:

- Specific deliverables and due dates will be determined by the client team.
- Status reports - weekly and monthly.

Equipment requirements:

- Resource will require own equipment

Resource must provide their own computer and related equipment. The computer's operating system must be a modern version of Windows or MacOS that is compatible with Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) and related software for remote access. Windows is preferred due to better compatibility. AVD/remote-related software will be installed on the resource's computer.

In the event that the Contractor’s resources are directed to work remotely, the Contractor shall be responsible for providing all of its equipment, including computers, software, printers, supplies, desks and chairs. However, the Province shall ensure that the Contractor’s resources have the necessary access and credentials to the Government of Alberta’s system.

In the event that, the Contractor’s resources are directed to work in-person, the Province shall provide the requisite office space, furniture and office supplies. However, the Contractor shall continue to be responsible for providing computers and software and the Province shall continue to ensure that the Contractor’s resources have the necessary access and credentials to the Government of Alberta’s system.

Working Hours:

- Standard Hours of work are 08:15 - 16:30 Alberta time, Monday through Friday excluding holidays observed by the Province
- Work must be done from within Canada, due to network and data security issues.
- It is anticipated the role will be 100% remote, however in the event of an onsite meeting, the GoA does not pay for travel to attend on-site meetings, nor any expenses related to relocation, commuting, housing/accommodation, food/drink.

Notes on Location:
Resource must be willing and able to work full-time, in-person in client office(s) in Edmonton, Alberta and/or work remotely, at the client's discretion. (No funding will be provided by the client for relocation or travel to work or meetings.
