The Industrial Painter, under the direction of the Coatings Division Manager, will primarily be responsible for cleaning and refurbishing metal parts, industrial equipment and other surfaces using specialized equipment and techniques as well as tending to and operating equipment to paint/coat products with paints. This position is responsible for the operation of sandblasting and painting equipment to clean and prepare metal surfaces for the next step in the production process. The Industrial Painter will also inspect surfaces for contamination prior to coating and identify and employ methods that will reduce exposure to hazardous chemicals from the paint. Other duties may be assigned as needed.

**Job Duties**
- Clean and refurbish metal and industrial equipment using sandblasting, pressurized steam or hydro blasting equipment.
- Abrade surfaces of metal/hard-composition objects to remove adhering scale, dirt, and to impart specified finish, using abrasive-blasting equipment.
- Shovel or pour abrasives, such as sand, grit, or shot of specified grade into machine hopper.
- Mask specified areas of object to protect from abrading action.
- Grind, sand, clean, or polish objects or parts to correct defects or to prepare surfaces for further finishing, using hand tools and power tools.
- Measure and mark equipment, objects, or parts to ensure grinding and polishing standards are met.
- Study blueprints or layouts to determine how to lay out work pieces or saw out templates.
- Trim, scrape, or deburr objects or parts, using chisels, scrapers, and other hand tools and equipment.
- Tend and operate equipment used to spray or coat products.
- Clean equipment and perform routine maintenance when necessary.
- Must follow company policy and procedures and government legislation, including adherence to proper health and safety standards and use of personal protective equipment.
- Ensure that process is completed within set timeframes, and work as a member of multidisciplinary team to ensure products are finished by set deadline.
- Other duties as assigned.

**Requirements**:

- High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED).
- Minimum 4 years' related experience in industrial painting or equivalent.
- Knowledge of corrosion-control methods and processes.
- Ability to perform work accurately and thoroughly.
- Ability to work independently with mínimal supervision.
- Experience using a spray gun
- Good verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to read blueprint instructions.
- Good time management skills and the ability to work with tight deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail.

**Work Conditions**
- Overtime may be required.
- Travel may be required.
- Lifting or moving up to 50lbs may be required.
- Work outdoors in all weather conditions.
