Construction Estimator

**Responsibilities**
- Prepare estimates of labour and/or material costs
- Prepare and maintain directory of supplies and trade contractors
- Prepare estimates for general expenses and overheads
- Preliminary estimates for proposed projects
- Read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings and specifications
- Estimate multiple projects at a time while paying strict attention to detail.
- Preparing schedules for construction of the project to accurately estimate labour and time requirements
- Attend project site to verify site conditions prior to estimate
- Estimate pre-contract costs

**Qualifications for Estimator**
- 2 years of experience working as an estimator or similar
- Ability to work independently
- Amazing analytical and math skills
- Ability to work well on a team
- Very detail oriented
- Ability to understand technical drawings and requirements
- Familiarity with financial and project management principles
- Thoroughness and reliability
- Excellent organizational skills

**Computer and technology knowledge**
- Spreadsheet
- MS Excel
- MS Word
- MS Project an asset

**Type of experience**
- Commercial and/or industrial construction
- Institutional construction
- Residential construction

**Project size estimating experience**
- $100,000 - $5,000,000
