Summary
The CMM Technician will utilize CMM equipment and other tools to conduct dimensional inspections of completed parts and equipment to ensure conformance to design intent, dimensional requirements and other specifications. The CMM Technician will provide analysis and draft daily reports of inspection findings, communicating conformance issues and discrepancies as required and assisting in providing dimensional resolution to such issues. The incumbent will have the ability to work in a safe and efficient manner at all times.

Job Duties
- Program, operate and adjust Protoplast Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) and other measurement equipment.
- Conduct dimensional inspections on completed parts using CMM equipment, machines and other hand measuring instruments.
- Analyze to ensure conformance of parts to design intent, dimensional requirements, blueprints and other specifications.
- Provide daily detailed measurement information reports to Engineering Manager and Quality Manager.
- Identify discrepancies and non-conformance issues, communicating report results to Engineering Manager and Quality Manager for corrective action where required.
- Assist in providing resolution of dimensional issues.
- Adjust CMM equipment and programming as required to perform inspections. Training will be provided
- Ensure inspections and use of CMM is conducted in an acceptable manner and to established organizational procedures.
- Ensure CMM equipment and hand measuring instruments are operated and maintained according to the maintenance schedule.
- Provide assistance to Engineering and Quality and various other departments as requested.
- Ensure all work is performed in a safe manner and according to organizational Health and Safety policies, procedures and legislation.
- Responsible for gauge capability studies and other statistical analysis as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned by Quality Manager
**Requirements**:
- Minimum 2 years experience with CMM equipment
- Previous experience in automotive industry considered an asset.
- Demonstrated mathematical abilities.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and other schematics.
- Mechanical aptitude considered an asset.
- Extremely detail-oriented and analytical thinker.
- Able to interface directly with cross-functional teams and communicate technical data in non-technical terms.
- Ability to create and review technical documentation and reports.
- Strong problem identification and problem resolution skills.
- High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
- Strong work ethic and positive team attitude.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Working Conditions
- Work in a manufacturing / industrial environment.
- Manual dexterity required to use desktop computer and peripherals.
- Overtime as required.
