This position is primarily responsible for performing tasks involved with material preparation.

Performs various tasks related to slurry and raw material control.
- Ensure continuous production, minimizing down time.
- Verify and maintain all slurry post for proper slurry height.
- Work closely with supervisor/team leader, and other members of your team to coordinate your daily activities.
- Verify raw material quality and notify your team leader of any non-conforming product. (ex.: sand, ludox, ipa, etc.)
- Take out all slurry for lab testing.
- Prepare all top up slurries.
- Ensure that all the equipment function properly and notify your team leader of any malfunction that may occur.
- Use product criteria and activity instructions for guidance.
- Daily verifications of working tools (ex: clips, scrapers, etc) and notify your team leader if there is a shortage.
- Verify that there is enough material to keep production constant (ex: sand in hoppers, slurry level in pots, material to make new slurry, etc.)
- Working close with your supervisor and colleagues to eliminate non-value added operations.
- Eliminate waste caused by the process, material handling and unnecessary traveling.
- When problems arise always have a possible solution to recommend. Do not only bring the problem.
- Is responsible for reading the process sheets.
- Is responsible for entering production in computer.
- Keeps slurry tank filled with slurry.
- Handles chemicals required by the shell department.
- Cleans and prepares the parts before each dip.
- Is responsible for the general housekeeping of the area and is responsible for using the proper safety precautions.
- Cross trained in a variety of areas throughout the facility.
- Must have basic math skills.
- Ability to use independent judgement since work is perform independently.
