The Ultra manufacturing function is responsible for the manufacture, integration and test of a wide range of products and systems providing innovative capabilities for our customers.
Nationality Requirements
**Job Description**:
The Production Manager is responsible for the safe, high quality and efficient manufacturing of Sonobuoy products at the Dartmouth facility.
- Day to day management of on time, high quality manufacture of products for customers (internal and external).
- Ensure adherence to scheduled and forecasted deliverables.
- Prepares production and progress reports (daily, weekly, and monthly)
- Resource planning on a daily/ weekly/monthly basis to ensure that appropriate levels of suitably skilled staff are available to meet all operational requirements.
- Ensure there is adequate number of employees trained and qualified for each work center in collaboration for the Product Assurance Training and Assessment Program
- Verify completion of key Team Lead accountabilities as per standard work (H&S task observations, MEI verifications and shop floor stock verifications)
- Manage production shortages in conjunction with Planning and Purchasing.
- Ensure there is timely resolution of technical production issues.
- Management of the Sonobuoy production budget.
- People management (performance management, engagement, learning and development) of the Sonobuoy production teams.
- Implement LEAN manufacturing systems including process flow improvements and visual management
- Engage in the planning and implementation of new product lines in collaboration with Production Engineering.
- Ensure regular communications with site trade union representatives to encourage a collaborative and positive working relationship.
- Track and report progress against objectives to the Manufacturing Director.
- Daily/weekly meetings with the production teams.
- Provide input to the Operations Strategy and subsequent execution.
- Continuous improvement and change management.
- Other duties as assigned.
**Required Skills**:
- Manufacturing Engineering/Industrial Engineering Degree. Alternate degrees will be acceptable with the relevant experience for the role.
- 5+ years of experience of production management/manufacturing management. Electronics experience would be an asset.
