**PRODUCTION TEAM LEAD**

2nd Shift - Router Room

***:
Provides direction for the performance of a production function (such as routing, pressing, shipping/receiving or another comparable area) or several small functions. Ensure the flow of production that optimizes Costs and meets/exceeds Delivery expectations. The Production Team Lead provides effective training to area employees to ensure safety and quality standards are maintained at all times.

**POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Work with supervisor and other team leads to manage and prioritize staffing assignments to ensure customer demand and the production schedule are met.
- Execute and coordinate employee training to ensure that procedures are followed and meet all quality requirements.
- Report problems or concerns with quality, processes, equipment, materials and labor to Production Supervisor.
- Responsible for determining root cause and short term corrective action for customer service and quality issues.
- Participate in performance management process and assist the supervisor in completing employee performance reviews.
- Update production metrics and facilitate regular team communication.
- Maintains a clean and organized work area to facilitate manufacturing functions.
- Work closely with support staff such as Maintenance, Engineering/R&D, Supply Chain and Customer service to prevent and resolve issues.
- Participate as an active member of the production team by operating equipment at a Technical level.
- Participate in improvement projects such as Kaizens and 5S activities.
- Use facts and data to facilitate problem solving that drives to root cause, and ability to suggest solutions and improvements.
- Assist in positively promoting changes and improvements.
- Willingness to increase skill set for further advancement.
- Ability to cover and oversee ‘day to day’ tasks in absence of a supervisor.

**EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILLS**:

- Minimum High School diploma, plus 2 years of related experience or equivalent.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
- Ability to communicate effectively through oral and written communications.
- Ability to analyze and solve problems.
- Ability to work with others collaboratively and promote teamwork.
- Strong organizational skills.
