Job Function:
Supervise staff engaged in real estate services. Provide technical advice and specialized consulting service to clients across the Company and externally on assigned areas of expertise. Develop and implement real estate objectives and strategies. Negotiate acquisition/disposal work activities. Provide advice and guidance on appraising, negotiating, conveyancing, expropriation, title searching and analyze land uses or environmental studies affecting the Company#s land rights. Serve as the representative on internal and external policy committees to secure real estate objectives.

**Job Description**:
1.Supervise staff engaged in real estate activities. Plan, schedule and organize the work of staff providing necessary direction, training and review of work activities. Participate in employee selection recommendations. Develop work methods and procedures to ensure the effective contribution of subordinates.

2.Provide the following activities associated with the acquisition, management, development and disposal of real estate on behalf of the Company.

(a) Acquisition/Disposal Services - Negotiate acquisition/disposal of real estate and real estate rights involving activities such as purchasing, leasing, selling, expropriation and owner contact.

(b) Legal Services - Provide advice and guidance to customers and employees in real estate legal matters involving activities as conveyancing, expropriation, title searching, etc.

(c) Appraisal Services - Gather and analyze real estate market data, prepare appraisals and make recommendations on appraised values for intricate real estate transactions; contract independent fee appraisers, negotiate compensation for services, review and approve external appraisal products and reconcile appraisals.

(d) Real Estate Portfolio Management Services # Identify, develop and implement strategies for optimizing the acquisition, management (including secondary land use), development and disposal of the Company#s real estate at both corporate and site specific levels; monitor the real estate asset base to ensure that returns are maximized and costs minimized e.g. taxation and assessment

(e) Land Use Planning Services - Influence government policy as it relates to more complex land use issues to ensure interests are protected and to secure land use government and regulatory approvals for real estate facilities. Perform and analyze land use reviews and environmental studies; propose, prepare and present responses, reports, recommendations or environmental assessment documents.

3.Provide technical advice and consulting services to clients across the Company and externally on assigned areas of expertise; develop solutions to difficult problems.

4.Conduct investigations, compile and present evidence and appear at formal hearings including governmental, regulatory and public participation processes, in an effort to influence the members' decisions or to change their recommendations in accordance with the interests of the Company.

5.Serve as a representative on internal and external technical and policy committees.

6.Prepare financial and delivery estimates for studies or projects as assigned with a focus on accountability. Assist Supervisor in the development and preparation of budgets, business plans and variance reports.

7.Keep up-to-date on latest concepts, theories, changes in legislation and developments in the field of real estate by reviewing trade publications, attend seminars, etc.

8.Provide continuous quality improvement within the general context of the job responsibilities; make suggestions to Supervisor on how to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the Department.

9. Support Corporate planning and strategic Initiatives.

10. Perform other duties as required.
