Reporting to the Director of Care, the Resident Care Manager (RCM) acts as an advocate, coordinator, and liaison for the resident in the planning and organizing of day-to-day operations. The incumbent coordinates, directs and monitors resident care and activities of the members of the team. The Manager works in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team for the delivery of quality care and strategic planning for the nursing department. This individual provides leadership for the delivery of safe resident care in accordance with the Standards of Nursing Practice as well as is in accordance with the mission, vision and values and the policies and procedures of Covenant Health. The RCM is accountable for the clinical management, administration, education, research, and professional responsibilities pertaining to the nursing unit. The incumbent provides supervision to Registered Nurses (Registered Nurses (RN's), Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN's) and Health Care Attendants (HCA's). The Resident Care Manager may assume responsibility for the Nursing Department in the absence of the Director of Care. This position is non-unionized.

**Required Qualifications**:
Graduate of a recognized Baccalaureate degree program is required. Active registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA) required. Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider (Level C) required.
**Additional Required Qualifications**:
Charge Nurse experience required. Five (5) years recent nursing experience. Current knowledge in medicine and geriatrics. Management or Supervisory experience is an asset. Current knowledge and interest in caring for elderly residents and working in a geriatric environment.
**Preferred Qualifications**:
Computer Skills (Microsoft Office, ESP, etc.). Exhibits strong clinical knowledge and skill in nursing. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Strong leadership skills. Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills.
