**ABOUT TRANSPOWER**

We are a prime contractor to various utility, industrial and commercial clients, providing for the installation of high voltage cables, transformers, switchgears, street and highway lighting, traffic signals, telecommunication equipment and natural gas plant. **DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Perform comprehensive job site inspections to identify actual and potential hazards
- Enforce the OHSA and its regulations, as well as adherence to company safety policies and procedures.
- Perform frequent audits of all work areas and Job Sites and Perform Job Hazard analyses
- Identify and assess potential hazards, such as electrical, fall, excavation, confined space, and machinery-related risks, and develop action plans to mitigate them.
- Coordinate with HSE Coordinator to create work procedures when required
- Investigate utility damages and provide measures to reduce frequency rates
- Make recommendations to HSE Manager about health and safety in the workplace, preventative measures to be considered and/or potentially implemented
- Report directly to the HSE Manager all concerns, results of workplace inspections, interactions with MOL Inspectors, TSSA Inspectors and general observations regarding the overall compliance with the ACT a Regulations
- Perform constant follow-up to ensure employees are following safety requirements.
- Keep current with industry “best practices” and legislative requirements
- In collaboration with the HSE manager, monitor and track safety-related incidents, accidents, and near-misses, conducting thorough investigations to determine root causes and recommend preventive measures.

**KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS**:

- Ability to recognize hazardous situations & recommend corrective measures is essential
- Demonstrated ability to be self-motivated, proactive and an effective team player
- Proficient in using a computer and Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent time management, verbal and written communication skills
- Strong organizational, record-keeping and follow-up skills
- Ability to understand and follow standard operating policies and procedures
- Ability to perform duties in a professional manner and appearance
- Must have a valid G driver’s license and clean driving record

**ASSET**: Familiarity with utility construction and practices.

**ASSET**: Education relating to Occupational Health and Safety, or related fields.

**Schedule**:
