Located on the shores of Georgian Bay, we serve some of the most complex and disadvantaged individuals in Ontario and are the sole provider of high-secure forensic mental health services in the province.
The Clinical Manager of the Awenda B program is looking for a temporary full-time Psychometrist. The purpose of the position is to provide psychological services in an interdisciplinary framework including psychometric assessment, treatment and therapeutic programs, clinical consultation, research and education services in a tertiary hospital catering to clients with severe mental illness and forensic issues, in-patient and outpatient, under the clinical supervision of a registered psychologist.

**KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES**:
All clinical duties and responsibilities are performed under the direct supervision of a registered Psychologist:
- Perform psychological and bio-psychosocial investigation and assessment (cognitive/intellectual, personality, neuropsychological, behavioural, and forensic) including the selection, administration, scoring and interpretation of a variety of standardized, research-based and non-standardized assessment techniques under supervision; investigating and assessing behavioural disorders and psycho-physiological dysfunctions through interviews, rating scales, physiological and observational methods.
- Prepare psychological reports and maintain accurate clinical records.
- Develop, implement and evaluate psychotherapeutic treatment programs.
- Provide consultation services to clients, relatives, professional associations, self-help and other groups, mental health workers, and physicians both in the facility and in the community.
- Provide educational services including preparing and presenting lectures, demonstrations and teaching conferences for students in psychology and other mental health disciplines, training and development of front line staff.
- Participate in psychological research projects related to the understanding of mental and behavioural disorders and the evaluation of diagnostic techniques and treatment programs by formulating methodology, collecting and analyzing data and preparing written reports; participating in CQI and program evaluation projects.
**REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS**:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology; Master’s degree in Psychology preferred
- Three to five years’ recent and related experience in a similar role within a hospital or health care environment preferred.
- Proven experience with psychometric assessment.
- Experience with psychological theories, ethical issues and best practices utilized in clinical and/or forensic psychology.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience with risk assessment measures and management theory.
- Proven experience with research design, data collection and analysis, statistical procedures and techniques.
- Working knowledge of computer software including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, database management.
- Results oriented work ethic to work independently and undertake tasks needed to accomplish work objectives and deliver quality, consistent and timely results
- Demonstrated analytical, conflict resolution, interpersonal and organizational skills
- Proven written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven ability to adapt readily to change.
- Models and promotes core ethical practice, Waypoint Values, and reflects an optimistic and positive attitude.
- Preference for proficiency in French/English language skills.
