We are looking to hire a Mortgage Underwriter for our busy downtown office.

Knowledge of the mortgage/real estate industry is required. We will provide training, but preference will be given to those with experience in sales, mortgage agent/broker license and mortgage agent/underwriting experience.

**Responsibilities**
- Analyzing applicant's financial information, credit history, and collateral to assess risk
- Conducting risk analysis and making informed decisions on loan approvals or denials
- Collaborating with loan officers, processors, and other stakeholders to gather additional information or clarify discrepancies
- Ensuring compliance with underwriting guidelines, regulations, and investor requirements
- Communicating underwriting decisions to loan officers and providing explanations for any conditions or stipulations

**Skills**

To excel in this role, you should possess the following skills:

- Strong mathematical aptitude for analyzing financial data and performing calculations
- Proficient in risk analysis and assessing creditworthiness of borrowers
- Strong analytical skills to evaluate complex financial information
- Ability to collect, organize, and interpret data accurately
- Knowledge of financial services industry regulations and guidelines
- Effective communication skills to collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders
- Negotiation skills to propose alternative solutions or conditions when necessary

**Salary**: $60,000.00-$90,000.00 per year
