**BACKGROUND**
The BC Non-Profit Housing Association provides leadership and support to members in creating and supporting a high standard of affordable housing throughout British Columbia. BCNPHA members are primarily non-profit housing providers. Other members include individuals and organizations that care about affordable housing.
The Asset Management Department provides Energy Management and Capital Planning services to non-profit housing providers with the goal to reduce operating costs, prolong existing housing stock, and increase housing stock size to better meet rising housing demands. The Asset Management Department is searching for someone to join our team as an Energy Analyst. This role will be a full-time position assisting the Asset Management Department carry out its mandate to provide support to the non-profit housing sector.
BCNPHA is the umbrella association for non-profit housing providers in BC providing services, education, events and advocacy to over 500 non-profit housing societies who provide more than 60,000 units of affordable housing at more than 2,000 sites across the province. Please note that BCNPHA does not own or manage any of these buildings.

This position will provide energy performance data and other technical services related to energy analysis in order to identify energy efficiency opportunities in non-profit housing at various organizations across British Columbia.
**Key responsibilities**
- Establish and improve internal building asset analyses and reporting, cross-referencing data in Ameresco Asset Planner, iMIS CRM, Asset Analysis survey results and Energy Star Portfolio manager
- Identify, verify, and document data sources (e.g., location related data and building specificinformation)
- Database management and maintenance (e.g. updating outdated entries, removal ofduplications and orphans)
- Ensuring consistency and complementing between the various databases and overall dataintegrity
- Engage in data quality measures for whole-building benchmarking using Energy Star Portfolio Manager and BC Hydro’s web services
- Connect portfolio buildings meters directly with societies or through partners and ensureongoing data exchange
- Perform, and verify data aggregation through utility billing and ESPM reporting.
- Identify data gaps or inconsistencies and take steps to rectify them
- Work with utilities on process improvement for connectivity.
- Prepare data reports for quarterly, annual reports and as needed
- Liaise with non-profit housing providers, supporting with utility bill and disclosure release formsubmittals
- Support Building Energy Specialists with energy performance data analysis and use patterns for energyand GHG emission saving opportunities, leading to the implementation of energy efficiency projects andparticipation in incentive and rebate programs
- Establish and improve internal and external data collection processes wherever possible

**QUALIFICATIONS**
**Education, Experience and Skills**
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, applied science, business, computer science, math or data analytics
- Sustainable Energy Management Advanced Certificate (SEMAC) through BCIT, or Master’s degree in clean energy, sustainability or data science would be an asset
- Knowledge of energy analysis, energy conservation measures, buildings, building construction,and building energy systems is required
- Proven advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel or equivalent
- Experience with Energy Star Portfolio Manager, RETScreen, datasets or other energy analysissoftware would be an asset
- Demonstrated skills in quantitative analysis, critical thinking and problem solving
- Experience communicating with IT on database configuration needs would be an asset
- Report delivery, presenting numerical and statistical information
- Adapts for changing conditions; communicates changes and progress and meets challenges withresourcefulness
- Looks for ways to improve process and quality; developing alternative approaches and ideas
- Effective communication skills including verbal, written and presentation
- Ability to work independently and proactively with mínimal guidance
- A working knowledge of non-profit organizations and operations would be an asset
- 1-3 years related work experience
