**1.0 JOB TITLE**: _Electrician_

**2.0 BASIC FUNCTION**:
- The basic functions of the Electrician include:_
- Laying out, assembling, installing, testing, troubleshooting and repairing electrical wiring, fixtures, control devices and related equipment in buildings and other structures.
- The Electrician will be meeting corporate expectations of the position when he/she is: _
a) Successful in maintaining and growing current clientele.
b) Successful in maintaining a stocked and clean company vehicle.
c) Successful in completing jobs in compliance with electrical code, and with no ESA defects.
d) Successful in completing jobs on budget and on time.
e) Successful in displaying professionalism through workmanship, attitudes, and behaviours.
f) Successful in adhering to the Health and Safety Policies.
**3.0 REPORTING RELATIONSHIP**:
The _Electrician _reports to their assigned _VP ICI or VP RCS_
**4.0 AUTHORITIES**:
- The following are principal authorities granted to the Electrician:_
4.1 Exercise the responsibilities and perform the duties of this position. This includes full responsibilities and duties covered herein, acting within the guidelines provided by the company’s Policies and Procedures Manual and Health & Safety Manual.
**5.0 RESPONSIBILITIES**:
- The following are principal responsibilities of the Electrician:_
5.1 Adhering to the codes of the company’s Policies and Procedures Manual.
5.2 Ensuring that all electrical work is completed to electrical code and in conjunction with ESA standards.
5.3 Taking pride in appearance of work (final product is tidy, orderly, and aesthetically pleasing.)
5.4 Trouble-shooting, problem-solving, making decisions and completing electrical work accordingly.
5.5 Providing quality work to the clients in a professional and **timely manner**.
5.6 Maintaining accurate records of work completed and materials used in order to ensure that jobs are completed on budget.
5.7 Completing all job paperwork accurately, using proper spelling and grammar.
5.8 Leading, motivating, supervising and teaching apprentices; ensuring that apprentices conform to policies and complete job paperwork at least one day per week.
5.9 Ensuring that Certificate of Qualification is current and in good standing.
**6.0 PRINCIPAL DUTIES**:
- The following are principal duties of the Electrician:_
6.1 Work productively as a part of the team, and positively encouraging teamwork in others.
6.2 Challenge self to improve, research and act to improve own performance.
6.3 Greet clients and explain the work completed.
6.4 Inform the customer of work performed and make recommendations for additional work required.
6.5 Perform housekeeping duties such as removing debris, tidying workspace, and cleaning the work area, in conformance with Health & Safety Policies, and customer service standards.
6.6 Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures, using hand tools and power tools.
6.7 Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components, using test equipment and hand tools, to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem.
6.8 Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with codes.
6.9 Advise on whether continued operation of equipment could be hazardous.
6.10 Meet and deal with ESA inspectors.
6.11 Manage time effectively.
6.12 Plan layout and installation of electrical wiring, equipment and fixtures, based on job specifications and local codes.
6.13 Direct and train apprentices to install, maintain, or repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures.
6.14 Prepare sketches or follow blueprints to determine the location of wiring and equipment and to ensure conformance to building and safety codes.
6.15 Use a variety of tools and equipment, and understand how they operate, such as power construction equipment, measuring devices, power tools, and testing equipment.
6.16 Perform documentation duties such as maintaining records and files, preparing reports and ordering supplies and equipment.
6.17 Perform physically demanding tasks, such as digging trenches to lay conduit and moving and lifting heavy objects.
6.18 Perform physical activities that require considerable use of arms, legs and whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials.
6.19 Maintain awareness of Electrical code changes, and read all ESA bulletins.
6.20 Monitor assigned vehicle as per Vehicle Standards; keep vehicle stocked and clean.
6.21 Proactively participate in process improvement.
6.22 May include some work on an on-call basis.
6.23 Other duties as assigned from time to time.
