**Job Summary**:
**Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Responsible for day to day operations of Central Library's Makerspace including staff, facility, services and resources, and scheduling Makerspace staff at Branch Library Makerspaces.
- Participate in supervision, scheduling, training, and/or evaluation of makerspace staff.
- Participates in the development of system-wide Makerspace training and coordinates and delivers Makerspace training for staff.
- Provide advanced technology support to customers in Library Makerspaces.
- Provides cash handling (including collecting fees, refunds, opening and closing procedure in regards to cash/float counting).
- Coordinate, plan and conduct Makerspace training, class visits, tours and outreach for library customers and partners.
- Coordinate partnership activities and participates in development of partnership requirements.
- Oversees supplies acquisition for makerspace and distribution of shared makerspace equipment.
- Oversees the development of system-wide Makerspace procedures; maintains and updates procedures, coordinates deployment of procedures, communicates changes to procedures.
- Responsible for first level repair support for Makerspace equipment and coordinating second level repaid with external vendors.
- Responsible for fostering a positive and respectful workplace.
- Responsible for the health, safety and security of staff and customers in accordance with occupational health and safety legislation and library policies.
- Participate on system-wide task teams and/or special projects or events.
- Prepare reports and statistics
- Provide reference and reader's advisory at Makerspace service points using library tools and resources such as electronic resources and the integrated library system or triages request to branch/department information staff.
- Works with team and other Mississauga Library and City staff and departments to ensure efficient and effective service.
- Provides input and feedback in development of Makerspace Strategy.
- Other duties as assigned.

**Skills and Qualifications**:

- Masters Degree in Library Science with 1 year of professional experience supplemented by experience developing and delivering technology training in a library setting **OR** Degree/Diploma in education, arts, or a technology field with 3 years' experience as a Supervisor providing customer service and training in the use of technology and digital creation tools.
- Demonstrated experience in delivery of technology training.
- Demonstrated experience in staff supervision and customer service skills
- Demonstrated experience with audio recording, video recording, photo editing and use of digital creation tools.
- Effective interpersonal skills are essential in dealing with the staff and public.
- Effective written and oral skills in English are essential.
- Ability to lead others.
- Professional knowledge in the use of library makerspace resources.
- Demonstrated experience with Mac and PC technology support.
- Some lifting as involved.
- Ability to work for full time staff to include two evenings per week and alternate Saturdays.
- Sunday work may be required.

Hourly Rate/Salary: $81,900 - $94,703 (This is an interim salary which will be confirmed through CUPE 1989 bargaining)

Hours of Work: 35 hours per week
